Sepermeru was the religious capital of the 19th Nome of Upper Egypt, located on an irrigation canal near the general entrance to the Fayuum Oasis. This outpost settlement was situated roughly mid-way between Oxyrhynchos (Per Medjed) to the south and Herakleopolis to the north. According to ancient taxation records and other pertinent sources, Sepermeru was a noted settlement for active and retired military personnel and their familes, particularly during the New Kingdom reign of the Rameses pharaohs. Agriculture was also practiced here. The chief deities of the town were the god Set and the goddess Nephthys; both of these deities were highly favored by the war-like Ramessid Dynasty of kings for their ominous, agrressive attributes. As revealed by ongoing excavations in the 1980s, two provincial temples were built in Sepermeru, existing from (at least) the 19th and 20th Dynastic periods. One temple was dedicated to Set while the other temple enclosure belonged to Nephthys. Separate, hierarchical priesthoods for both deities are named, for taxation purposes, in the Wilbour Papyrus: two "prophets" of "Set of Sepermeru" and two "prophets" and a "wa'ab" priest in the service of "Nephthys of Sepermeru" (19th and 20th Dynasties). In all likelihood, the temples were either built or considerably refurbished by Rameses III. Only the foundation stones of both temples remain today and, by Ptolemaic times, it is questionable whether the temples of Set and Nephthys (along with the settlement itself) were still occupied. Indeed, a derogatory reference to "Set of Sepermeru" on the walls of the Ptolemaic temple of Horus (at Edfu) notes that the town's canals were "dried up and forgotten" by the turn of the Common Era. This may have been a mere "hieroglyphic insult" rendered to Set, enemy of Horus, for the epithet "Set of Sepermeru" was still obviously familiar to the temple theologians. The capital of the 19th Nome had long before shifted to Oxyrhynchus in any case. Thus, it is likely that the settlement had waned considerably in significance. The history of the site, however, remains notable from an ancient Egyptian perspective because of the favor lavished by the Ramessid kings upon the temples of Nephthys and Set. Set's favor declined throughout Egypt with the downfall of these kings (except in the Delta and various northern oases), while Nephthys achieved greater popularity in her role as a goddess of the Osirian cycle, especially with temples of her own at Komir and Diospolis Parva (Hiw), where the entire 7th Upper Egyptian Nome was considered to be her particular "fiefdom" in Late Period and Greco-Roman times.

Mr. Burton "Bud" Koffman is an incredibly secretive Jewish-American financier and businessman, who resides in the city of Binghamton, New York, as well as other locations around the world. Despite the fact that he is one of the wealthiest citizens in the United States, once owned the Sands Casino in Las Vegas as well as a myriad of Caribbean resorts, an industrial empire, exclusive contracts to distribute foreign cars in the U.S., and an investment bank, there is virtually no public information or knowledge of him. Finding information about him is difficult but not impossible, and the more that is uncovered the more interesting of a figure he seems to become.

[ [Penis Theory] ]

Penis Theory Abstract Penis theory is a branch of applied masculine studies that analyzes hypothetical (yet existing) relationships in unstructured courtship. Macro penis theory is a corrolary to the Buldge/income equation, in which male desirability is a function of independent variables-- penis size and income. Beginning in April 2006, Penis theory was initially developed as a tool for understanding seemingly irrational female behavior. Derived from non-experimental reasoning, Penis theory builds from several premises resultant from an implicit hierarchy of psycho-social observations: i. Women derive sexual gratification from larger penii. ii. Wealth is an essential component of longterm male/female interaction in western society iii. The sexual revolution has limited traditional societal norms iv. The pop-culture phenomenon of Sex and the City(see Whore studies)

Penis theory has been applied to other social science disciplines including: macro/micro cockeconomics, critical feminism, whore studies, and theoretical buldgenomics. It has drawn attention.

History Penis theory was developed by disillusioned University of California undergrads Allen Gilio and Dave Markman in April 2006.

notation--in the process of being developed. All concept/theories are not currently existing and are being created.

Detroit native J-LYRIQ is a gritty, urban contemporary/neo-soul singer, songwriter and self taught producer. His influences range from Sam Cooke, Donny Hathaway, and Marvin Gaye to Jodeci, Brian Mcknight, and R. Kelly. Like other R&B artist who have emerged in the '90s and 2000s, J-Lyriq looks to different eras for inspiration. The classic soul of the '60s and '70s impact his singing and producing, but so have the urban contemporary and hip-hop of the '80s, '90s and 2000s.

At times, J-Lyriq can be flat-out retro; some of his material would have been right at home on an old Motown LP from R&B's pre-'80s, pre-urban contemporary, pre-hip-hop era. Other times he has a more modern, hip-hop-influenced outlook. In other words, he has some songs that are quite friendly to urban radio, and others that would be too old-school for urban radio. His goal is to not be able to be compared to any other artist.

Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, where he was the last of 8 children, J-Lyriq had a very musical upbringing -- one that included a steady diet of R&B and soul. When he wasn't performing gospel, J-Lyriq listened to secular soul and funk -- and his favorites included Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Donny Hathaway, and the Gap Band. As a lead in his choir he had big dreams of worldwide fame.

Ioannis Amanatidis was born on the 3rd December, 1981 in Kozani, Greece. He is a Greek footballer, who has served as a full Greek international.

Amanatidis' early career in football was unconventional, yet promising . He began playing football in Kozani with his friends (rather than with a professional club) on the streets of the town. His first experience in organised football came at the age of nine, when he moved to Germany with his family. It was at SC Stuttgart that he first laced up his boots, demonstrating a devastating instinct for scoring goals even in his early years, and becoming the leading goalscorer during his four years with the Swabian club.

Amanatidis has, since then, played a large majority of his football in Germany, most notable are his performances with German clubs Kaiserslautern and, of course, Stuttgart. He currently plays for Eintracht Frankfurt, and serves as one of their key frontmen in the Frankfurt strikeforce. He played a vital role for Frankfurt in the 2005/2006 season, helping them stay in the German Bundesliga, and finishing the season as the clubs highest goalscorer for the year, with 12 goals. Amanatidis also led the way in the German cup, with Frankfurt just losing out to German champions Bayern Munich in the final. Amanatidis had a chance to be the hero of the night, having his 88th minute strike off a corner parried away by keeper Oliver Kahn.

Despite having such a promising career ahead of him at many periods of his blossoming career, unlike many notable Greek national players, Amanatidis was left out of the Greece squad which won the 2004 Euro Final. When asking coach Otto Rehagel why he was left out, he admitted:

"I asked Rehhagel before the European Championship why I had been left out. He explained and I accepted it".

He is no doubt, in the future, going to be in the plans for Greece, and despite Greece not making the World Cup in Germany, Amanatidis has a lot to look forward to internationally. Amanatidis was also named in the Greek squad that travels down under to meet Australia on Thursday 25th, 2006, in Melbourne.

Born Matt Burns in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Nick Mondo quickly rose to fame in CZW (Combat Zone Wrestling) as one of its brightest stars. Making his debut in March of 1999, Nick Mondo's career, although short-lived was one of the most succesful of all those who competed in CZW. Despite giving up much in size and power to competitors such as John Zandig, Nate Hatred, The Wifebeater and Necro Butcher, Mondo was able to stand toe-to-toe with these competitors in the ring. Notable incidents from Mondo's Career include his fall of the top of the Warehouse in Delaware at Tournament of Death 2. During this 2 Out Of 3 Falls Light-Tube Log-Cabin Match. Mondo and his opponent John Zandig fell from the top of a warehouse through 4 tables and one of the Light-Tube Log-Cabins. This fall left Mondo's back badly lascerated, despite this he managed to win the match. Later that night he would also defeat Ian Rotten to win TOD2. Sadly only a few months after TOD 2 on November 10th 2003 Nick Mondo announced he was retiring due to Injury. In his four and a half year carreer Mondo had won The CZW Iron Man Title 3 times, the CZW Tag Titles with Ric Blade, the AWF championship and the NCWA Hardcore Championship, along with Tournament of Death 2. Other notable Mondo matches include Nick Mondo vs Homeless Jimmy from the original Tournament of Death, a TLC match at Cage of Death 4 between the team of Mondo and Ric Blade and The Backseat Boyz and Nick Mondo vs Nick Gage vs Nick Berk in a Tables, Ladders and Violence Match where Mondo won his 2nd CZW Iron Man belt.

The Order of Prince Danilo I of Montenegro was the first Montenegrin state Order and was established as a single class Order by His Royal Highness Prince Danilo Petrovic on St. George's Day April 23 (May 5), 1852, as the Order of Danilo I for the Independence of Montenegro “in order to honor the courage and the accomplishments of his subjects and of all those who dedicated themselves to defend the holy thing of the fatherland independence”. The Order became dormant upon the exile of the Royal House, though with living members and is still awarded to prominent champions of the preservation of Montenegrin independence. The conditions by which the Order is awarded are defined by Statute.

Alterations were made to the appearance of the original decoration created by Prince Danilo and during the rule of His Majesty King Nikola I Petrovic the Order underwent two restructures. During the first restructure on St. Goerge's Day April 23 (May 5), 1861, three classes were introduced, The King introducing two upper degrees, Grand Cross and Commander, with specific insignias; the old cross becoming a third class, Knight. On April 23 (May 5), 1873, the second reorganisation of the Order expands the field of rewards to civilian merits, establishes a Grand Chancellery and adds an intermediary class of Grand Officer between those of Grand Cross and Commander. In 1893, a third reform of the statutes establishes a fourth class, resulting from a reclassification of the existing class of Knight. The old cross then became a fifth class.

Throughout the history of the Order, the insignia has been produced by several famous medallists, the best-known being Arthus Bertrand, Beranger & Magdalaine (Paris, France), A. Chobillion (Paris, France), D. Cravanzola (Roma, Italy), R. Marschall (Vienna, Austria), Vincent Mayer (Vienna, Austria), C.F. Rothe & Neffe (Vienna, Austria), A. Ryabkov (St. Petersburg, Russia), G.A. Scheid (Vienna, Austria), Silberberg (Hamburg, Germany) and presently Thomas Fattorini (Birmingham, United Kingdom).

Many deserving men and women have been awarded the Order of Prince Danilo I over time including foreigners. The illustrious list includes many decorated servicemen during the World Wars and a host of other notables, including Queen Victoria and King Edward VII of Great Britain, as well as being written about by F. Scott Fitzgerald in 'The Great Gatsby'.

The Order of Prince Danilo I is the prerogative of the Head of the Royal House of Montenegro. On November 11, 2004 in Cetinje, His Majesty King Nikola II Petrovic Njegos, Hereditary Grand Master, reformed the Order, keeping the organisation of 1873 in five classes, but renaming them into Grand Cross, Knight Commander, Knight, Lieutenant and Member. The Grand Cross class is divided in four grades: Diamond Star, Gold Star, Silver Star and Grand Cross. The Hereditary Grand Master and the Grand Chancellor of the Order both wear an additional Collar of the Order.

The Order of Danilo I is registered in Montenegro as a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO). Revised statutes of the Order were enacted on April 23 (May 5), 2005.

The present Hereditary Grand Master is His Majesty King Nikola II Petrovic Njegos of Montenegro. The Vice Grand Master is His Royal Highness Hereditary Prince Boris Petrovic Njegos of Montenegro, Grand Duke of Grahovo and Zeta. The Grand Chancellor of the Order is John Gvozdenovic, kinsman of the late General Anto Gvozdenovic (the last Grand Chancellor of the Order under King Nikola I).

The Successive Grand Masters since 1852 have been: His Majesty King Nikola II (from 24 March 1986); His Majesty King Michael (from 7 March 1921 to 24 March 1986); His Majesty King Danilo Alexander (from 1 March 1921 to 7 March 1921); His Majesty King Nikola I (from 13 August 1860 to 1 March 1921), and; Sovereign Prince Danilo I (from 23 April/5 June 1852 to 13 August 1860).

Glenn Dellimore Glenn Dellimore, born 1972 in London, England, privately educated in London and holder of various England athletic records, gained entry to the London Royal College of Design and graduated from London Barons Court College in Leisure & Entertainment Business Management.

Dellimore founded a national U.K health club events company, designing membership events for the Lord Sebastian Coe health clubs brand. Thereafter, Dellimore designed and founded a renowned ‘five star’ luxury health club in London.

As Dellimore advanced in the entertainment world, he moved from London to Beverly Hills. Liaising with major Hollywood film studios, Dellimore developed two international talent entertainment businesses. Dellimore’s Celeb Entertainment is an international talent booking company for the world’s most popular international talent attending U.K appearances with CelebEvents, formerly known as Jealous Events.

Appearances booked by Jealous Events include Kelly Donovan and Stacey Scowley for a Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel convention. Kelly Donovan was a stunt double for the show, and Stacey Scowley was an extra in one episode.

Glenn Dellimore was featured on the U.K television BBC consumer complaints programme Watchdog in 2003 regarding the Jealous Events David Boreanaz Event. Many attendees were not satisfaid with this event due to the lack of organisation. Fans were left out of pocket, in some cases for hundreds of pounds, regarding refunds that were promised and never delivered. Glenn Dellimore's name is well known on the U.K convention circuit as an organiser who's events most do not wish to attend.

Glenn Dellimore is back on the U.K convention scene as CelebEvents. Many people believe the name change from Jealous Events to CelebEvents is to mask the 'bad reputation' he now has, so new attendees will be unaware of the hundreds of fans left out of pocket from his previous events.

The peanut test can be used to see if you are (in)compatible with someone in terms of a relationship.

The test was originated in the UK and hence uses the main British flavours in nuts. It can be expanded to other nations' tipples but must be kept concise for clarity and maximum effect.

The test is as follows:

Which type of peanut do you prefer?

a) Dry Roasted b) Salted c) I don't like peanuts

The answer must be one of the above. Such comments as "well I don't really mind" are not permitted.

The Order of Saint Peter of Cetinje was the first dynastic Order of the Royal House of Montenegro and was introduced by His Majesty King Nikola I Petrovic in 1869. It is sometimes said that this order was actually introduced much earlier by Prince-Bishop (Vladica) Peter II Petrovic-Njegoš. The Order is bestowed upon prominent members of the Royal House, the Petrovic-Njegoš family, as well as to prominent foreign citizens, and is currently held by all members of the Royal House.

The name of Prince Danilo, the first Montenegrin ruler with a purely secular title, is inscribed on the Decoration. The Order was named after the Patron Saint of the Montenegrin Orthodox Church, Prince-Bishop (Vladika) Peter I Petrovic, the person who effectively obtained independence for Montenegro, and to whom is attributed the creation of the modern Montengrin State.

Tzar Alexander II of Russia was the first recipient of the Order, awarded on June 29, 1871. During his reign, King Nikola I never organised the Order and maintained it as a single class Dynastic Order, rewarding only members of the Montenegrin Royal Family and related such as Alexander I of Serbia (1888-1934), King Petar I of Serbia (1844-1921), Ljubica “Zorka” Petrovic Njegos (1864-1890), Duke Ilija Plamenac (1821-1917), Duke Bozo Petrovic Njegos (1846-1929), King Vittorio Emanuele III of Italy (1869-1947), and Jelena Petrovic Njegos (1873-1952) etc.

The present Grand Master is His Majesty King Nikola II and the Grand Chancellor is John Gvozdenovic.

The Order consists of a single class, and is normally reserved for members of the Royal Family and their kinsmen and in exceptional circumstances prominent foreign citizens.

Current living recipients include: Her Majesty Queen France, His Royal Highness Hereditary Prince Boris, Grand Duke of Grahovo and Zeta, Her Royal Highness Princess Altinai, His Most Eminent Highness Fra' Andrew Bertie, Prince and Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta, His Highness Prince Nicholas of Russia, His Serence Highness Prince Dimitri of Russia, His Royal Highness Vittorio Emanuele of Savoy, Prince of Naples, Her Royal Highness Marina of Savoy, Princess of Naples, His Royal Highness Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy, Prince of Venice and John Gvozdenovic.

In each year of its ten-year existence (1960 - 1969), numerous sports-news services named their choice for the American Football League's best first-year player. The choices by the major services are shown below.

1960

(UPI, TSN)

ABNER HAYNES, halfback, Dallas Texans

In 1960, though drafted by the NFL, Haynes chose to play for the American Football League's Dallas Texans, and led the AFL in rushing attempts, yards, and touchdowns in the league’s first year. Haynes helped launch the AFL as the fledgling league's first Most Valuable Player, and its first Rookie of the Year (in 1961, all players in the league were technically rookies). He captured the AFL's first rushing crown with 875 yards, and also led the Texans in receiving, punt returns, and kickoff returns.

1961

(UPI, TSN)

EARL FAISON, defensive end, San Diego Chargers

Despite being double and triple-teamed, Faison was chosen as the AFL Rookie of the Year in 1961. The 6-foot-5, 260-pound Earl Faison blew by opposing offensive lineman on his way to smashing American Football League quarterbacks as one of the original "Fearsome Foursome", and was chosen to the AFL All-Star team in 1961.

1962

George W. Bush has been satirically depicted in various media throughout the years, often in a negative context. Listed below are all the films, comics, websites, songs, tv series who've parodied or criticised him at least once:

Comics

Songs

In this list also songs about the war in Iraq are included, because they often criticize the war or war as a phenomenon in particular, however when these songs take a neutral point of view they are listed a little lower.

Songs about the war in Iraq without mentioning Bush

Some of these songs happen to be about war even without specifically talking about the war in Iraq. However, it must be said that so many songs about peace and against war have appeared during Bush's presidency that all of them, even if not a real criticism against the Bush administration must of could have been inspired by the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

  • "The Day After Tommorow" -(Tom Waits)
  • "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb" - (U2)
  • "Weapon Of Mass Destruction" (Faithless)

Music Videos

  • Rage Against The Machine's music video Testify for the US presidential elections of 2000 showed Bush and Al Gore as a sort of aliens who talk and act the same. The clip also makes use of archive footage and at one point an image of two girls kissing each other is followed by film footage of Bush looking very frightened.
  • Green Day's clip for Wake Me Up When Tommorow Comes (2004) shows a girl bursting in tears when she finds out her boyfriend is going to fight in Iraq. The video shows him as a soldier who is eventually shot in a desert like setting.
  • Eminem's clip for Mosh is an animation of Eminem and various people who gather together to march to a building out of protest against Bush. During the animated clip real life filmed material is shown of Bush during a presidential speech. In the end of the clip Eminem and the stream of people are shown registering to vote against Bush. After the 2004 elections however a different ending was shown: Eminem arrives at the building where Bush is seen, giving a speech. When he sees Eminem he hides behind his desk.

Tv series

  • In the British animation series 2DTV Bush is often depicted as an infantile person.

Discussion

An errata sheet is a common method of post-production editing in which the errors left in the produced copy are outlined on a sheet of paper bound into the book. This is a common method by which large works are "edited"; i.e. if the volume would cost too much and/or be too incongruous to edit, this is an acceptable method by which one might edit the work.

It should be noted that errata sheets should only outline minor errors within a work (e.g. misspellings, improper punctuation and the like). If a major error in the construction of a sentence occurs, or if the construction is such that the idea that the sentence delivers is unclear or distorted to the point of confusion or the delivery of the wrong idea, this MUST be corrected within the work.

Champlin Creek

Champlin Creek is located between the hamlets of Islip and East Islip, flowing southward into the Great South Bay.The fish and wildlife habitat is an approximate three and one-half mile length of the stream, extending from Knapps Lake, just north of the Main Street, to near its headwaters north of the Southern State Parkway. Champlin Creek is a relatively clean, cold, free-flowing, freshwater stream, generally less than 6 feet wide, partially vegetated sandy substrate. The creek is bordered by limited areas of wet forest land and suburban residential development. Champlin Creek is one of only a few free-flowing, spring-fed streams on Long Island that have remained in a relatively natural state. This creek provides habitat conditions suitable for natural reproduction by brook trout, and supports one of approximately 6 known wild populations of this species on Long Island. In addition to the native fish populations in Champlin Creek, brown trout and rainbow trout are stocked in the stream by the NYSDEC, provide a recreational fishery of county-level significance. Public access for fishing the area is available along the east side of Knapps Lake and at road crossings.

Stick divination is a method of divination practiced in West Africa. A set of symbols and a stick helps the diviner.

Pantego Christian Academy is a school in the Texas town of Pantego. They have a current student count of a little over 700, not including teachers. They host students from new-born to twelfth grade, and include some college credit classes. Teachers are required to have certain degrees in college, and tution for the school is high, ranging from $100+ a month per student.

Campus

On campus PCA has more than three buildings, but only three are used for teaching. THe first is for new-born to first grade. The next is from second to sixth grade. The last is for seventh to twelfth. Starting the summer of 2006, a building project will start construction, beginning with the destruction of the recently abandoned Turpin Drive. This will make room for better carpool, a full-sized football field, and the multi-million dollar Fine Arts facility.

Student Life

At PCA the teachers will do special deeds for a student and the classes are small enough (sometimes less than fifteen) that everyone participates. Field trips are more common, and programs such as CIA and AIM exist to help students go the extra mile with certain traits. CIA stands for Creative Individual Academics. In this class students with learning disorders are helped to overcome challenges and suceed in class. AIM stands for Activating Inquisitive Minds. In this class students learn and practice creativity excersizes, lateral thinking, and advanced academic challenges.

oprph-onic: a short biography

    The oprph-onic-omputer-oscillator, (oprph-onic), is a post-electronic/ambient music project.
Building upon the structures left behind by the Spirograph Versificometer (1994-1996), the
project’s creators (Jeff and Joel Eves) have used electronic tools to produce organically
inspired soundscapes and melody-driven songs. Although their 1997 debut album paid significant
tribute to the minimalist origins of electronic music, it can now be regarded as the first step
in oprph-onic’s journey. Their new album, “This Whole Planet”(2004), is far more liberal in
terms of its musical influences and atmospheric scope. From melodic compositions to loosely
structured ambience, to mechanical rhythms, each track on the album reflects a hopefulness and
emotional qualities not common to electronic music. The hope in oprph-onic’s music parallels
Jeff and Joel’s own aspirations concerning the project’s future. They continue to work on new
compositions while looking forward to live venues in the summer.

Bolwell Corporation

Bolwell Corporation is a large manufacturing concern headquartered in Victoria, Australia. In the 60's they produced sports cars as stylish as any of their contemporaries. Today the company is diversified with interests in industrial products. Here is a link to the history page of their compnay website which seems designed to educate the public on their beginnings in the car business and what they have broadened into today. http://www.bolwell.com.au/History.htm

This is a somewhat disappointing link to the Bolwell Car Company. I say disappointing because on the day this was writtin, the site offered only the main page and no further depth. Its a spiffy page, but only a page. Wonder why? http://www.bolwellcarcompany.com/

The Bolwell Car Club is composed of proud Bolwell owners and can be found here: http://www.bolwellcarclub.com.au/index1.htm

Finally, of relevance to this automtive sketch, there is motorcycle company called Bolwell Scootas (yep, spelled like that.) Here is a link to them: http://www.scoota.com.au/about_bolwell.html

These are the oldest archives of humanity. They are written in Senzar language (before Sanskrit) and they are contained within secret underground libraries in Tibet. The stanzas of Dzyan are not easy to understand, but they reveal, to the person willing to study them, a sublime description of cosmic evolution: the reawakening of the universe after a period of quiescence, the differentiation of forms, the process of world formation, the appearance of humanity on earth, and the early evolution of our species.

Rapper Fatal first surfaced as a member of the Outlaws, a collective organized by Tupac Shakur during his 1994 incarceration in an upstate New York prison cell. Also including rapper Khadafi, the Outlaws made their recorded debut on Shakur's All Eyez on Me album; however, after Shakur and Khadafi were both murdered in separate 1996 incidents, Fatal was forced to go it alone, signing with the Relativity label to release his solo debut In the Line of Fire.

Book/Magazine: "Bandits, Stalkers, & Murder: Life of the Tetched Phoebe Wise Author: Brett Mitchell Biography

About The Subject

She lived alone on the heights that overlooked the city. Her neighbors called her 'tetched'. She was tortured by bandits seeking a hidden treasure buried in the walls of her home. She killed a mad man with a Winchester .32 whose love lust turned into a fanatic infatuation. She wore wide brimmed hats decorated with fresh flowers, a long yellow taffeta with a trailing train, and lacey gloves revealing her worthless gems all the while shaking her fist and lashing out at those who dared to glance her way. She conversed with only those she thought worthy and talked to dogs and her guard horse as though they were her friends.

Though she was made famous by Pulitzer-Prize winning novelist and distant relative Louis Bromfield, it was simply the life she led that would ultimately create a legend of Phoebe Wise. Her life seemed surreal and her stories are what fiction is made of. Yet, her life was anything but fiction.

About The Book

Bandits, Stalkers, & Murder: Life of the Tetched Phoebe Wise explores the intricate details and fascinating stories of this eccentric and infamous Ohio legend who played a pivitol role in the fictional novels by the Pulitzer-prize winning author Louis Bromfield....

Through period newspapers, historical maps, rare documents, scores of photographs, and first hand accounts, Bandits, Stalkers, & Murder: Life of the Tetched Phoebe Wise reveals the true and extraordinary story of this legendary figure......

When has war ever been fair, just or necessary ?

Yet, we all wage wars. In my opinion all wars are a result of the breakdown of the rules of society which leads to the polarization of sensibility and reason. The root cause of the problem is usually trivial compared to the consequential disaster. No reason can warrant the taking of precious innocent lives; yet wars take place despite the wisdom and the best efforts of the human race, almost as if they are preordained. I don’t believe they are preordained, but they are certainly bred

Tottenham

Tottenham is a small village in southern Ontario about 90 km north of Toronto. It is amalgamated with Alliston (10 km south) and Beeton (5 km southeast) into the Township of New Tecumseth, of which the mayor is Mike McEachern. The Member of Provincial Parliament is Jim Wilson, & the MP of Simcoe-Grey is Helena Guergis, of the Conservative Party of Canada. A common nickname for the town among it's youth is the term "Dodge" due to it's early "hick-town" reputation.

Tottenham is home to two elementary schools, Father F.X. O'Reilly and Tottenham Public School; as well as a Catholic secondary school, St. Thomas Aquinas. It's main tourist attraction is the South Simcoe Railway, a heritage railway with about 6 km of track through the Beeton Creek valley.

Attic Fan is a fan used to actively transfer air from attic to outside. Most of the times it used to send hot attic air to outside. Attic temperature in summer can go above 150 degree Farenheit. Normally the Attic Fan is controlled through a thermal control box. One of the connection to fan is run through the control box. The control box can be set to activate a centain temperature like 120 degrees. In a two storeyed house the attic fan can be really useful in reducing air conditioning bills.

Presence of soffits or other types of air passage to your attic is required for Attic Fans to function efficiently. You may use another attic fan for air intake but you need to be carefull, as two fans can work against each other.

Attic Fans are different from Whole House Fans as they transfer air completly outside your living area. There is no exchange of air from your living space (as long as your attic is sealed from living area or you don't live in your attice ;).

Attic Fans are fairly easy to install. 2x4 lumber may be used to form support for the installation of fan. In case you don't want to make a hole in your roof, you may use a passive air transfer hole already present in your roof.

The Dutch surname Winant was most likely somebodies personal name turned into a surname. Winant originated from the old Germanic first name Winant, which was created from the terms "wig" which means battle, and "nanda" meaning bold or audacious. There are different verions of the name including, but not limited to Winants, Wynants, Wynands and Wijnand and are found mostly in The Netherlands, but in Belgium as well. Many Dutch surnames among the nobility and merchants have been used for many centuries. The first documentation that I have found of the name is Casper Winants. He was a resident of Bolswerd, Friesland, Netherlands; in 1640. There is a string of people with the last name Winant currently living in the United States most notably, the descendednts of John Gilbert Winant. Research on this name however, is not yet complete.

“Dorcia” is quite simply a six-piece hardcore metal band hailing from Reno, Nevada. It should be noted though that such a statement oversimplifies the bands aim and overall sound. “Dorcia” formed in mid-summer 2004 with a fervor and passion that surpassed most popular genres at that time. “Dorcia's” original founding members set out to create a sound that was unique and not easily described that mirrored their vastly different musical tastes. Two years plus after the bands formation Dorcia has endured through various line-up changes. Nonetheless, the members of Dorcia have overcome countless setbacks to become a staple not only in the Reno area, but California as well traveling abroad to gain exposure.

In 2004 the original members set out to write songs that were technical yet accessible to most listeners. Over two years later the members are still plugging away at creating songs that depict a range of feelings and emotion. "We are still six regular people who got together because we loved music, all aspects of it" Zach Pieren (bass guitar). "The idea is still the same; write songs that mean something...the easier a song sticks to you the more likely it will be to fall right off. If you have a hard time listening to something first it may be because that music has a lot of layers, it's not pop music, but to be honest I'm not sure we want it to be". "In my opinion we want the listener to have layers of sound to dissect, much like a good painting...there is a lot more to appreciate here than just a cheesy hook and some phony half-assed facade of choreography and lip-syncing" Aaron Chapin(guitar, vox).

Though spelled differently, "Dorcia" takes their name from a Bret Easton Ellis novel turned film American Psycho. "Dorsia" is a restaurant in the novel that all the young, well to-do, Wall Street hipsters including main character Patrick Bateman attempt to eat at. "Dorsia" is merely another facet of high status, symbolizing ones superiority in the handsome, well educated, intelligent race of Manhattan Wall Street brokers in the over indulgent eighties. Past the obvious appeal of American Psycho as a horror film, "Dorcia" chose it's name because all too often we as humans have somewhat neurotic alter egos, whether or not you choose to act upon those animalistic impulses as Patrick Bateman does is inconsequential, the fact is they exist.

"Dorcia's" music often times resembles Patrick Bateman's schizophrenic, obsessive compulsive psyche. Listening to "Dorcia" you can hear different styles of music represented such as thrash, grind, hardcore, metal, indie rock, even death metal much like the multiple personality disorder of Patrick Bateman who casually spends his days participating in trivial business pursuits while viciously rampaging through upper Manhattan at night.

Recorded at CLUTCHMOVE Studios in Reno Nevada under supervision of peer and friend Julian Peach “Why Tigers Hate Florida” the debut release from Dorcia is available through their website myspace.com/dorcia and live shows. However, Summer 2006 will be host to the band's full length release tentatively containing 10 tracks. In the wake of other Reno bands such as Fall Silent, December, and 7SECONDS, "Dorcia" hope to achieve a successful fan base here in the states and abroad.

Major Doctor Ghastly

Who is Major Doctor Ghastly? Major Doctor Ghastly is a main character from Maxwell Atom's Evil con Carne. She is frequently seen wearing googles and having her hair up in a bun. She was the one who put Hector con Carne's remaining parts in a purple circus bear named Boskov. (she also has a bit of a crush on Hector con Carne) Although the show was devoured by The Grim Adevntures of Billy & Mandy, another show by Maxwell Atoms, Major Doctor Ghastly can be seen rarely in the show including Boskov and Hector, and General Skarr, who lives down the street by the idiotic Billy. At the ending credits of "Druid, Where's my Car?" Billy is seen throwing Major Doctor Ghastly into a large tree.

Lyrics

The movement really took off with the founding of two bands, first Pearl Jam, Whick sold an incredable amount of albums but sort of burned out and second Nirvana which is infamous for destroying the big haired bands of the 80s however Nirvana was Grunge not Punk.

The station participates in [Emergency Alert System] and the Missouri [Amber Alert] system, so Internet listeners may discover programming interrupted with Saint Louis area weather alerts or other emergency alerts when such alerts are issued in the area where The Journey's studios are located. It also runs hourly local weather and traffic reports, especially during the morning and afternoon shows.

The Journey Christian Internet Radio [7] is a socially progressive station (see Social progressivism), which presents prgramming focused "on social justice, equality, and human dignity"[8] in addition to a mix of Christian pop music.

The Journey claims, on a Pacifica website, to be an alternative to "present an alternative to the xenophobic, [[homophobic], judgmental programming generally found in Christian radio today."[9]

The Journey began broadcasting as a non-commercial station on Live365 and later added Shoutcast streams and licensed streams on LoudCity.Com[10] and on Swcast.net [11]. It became a commercial station, on Live365 and its other networks mid-summer 2005, but continues affiliation with Pacifica Radio, Radio Netherlands, FSN / Feature Story News Service [12] [13], Free Speech Radio News[14] and [Democracy Now], which it airs live at 7 a.m. Central Time.

It is also affiliated with The Accent Radio Network [15], Westar and Impact Radio Network, all commercial networks.

Until Fall, 2005, The Journey aired a mix of [Christian Pop Music] and [public radio] or [community radio] programming with little or no religious content during four hours in the afternoon, however recently the station seems to have transitioned to a format more focused on music programming. Many of the Pacifica Radio and Radio Netherlands network news and feature programs which were carried on weekday afternoons are currently missing from its current broadcast schedule replaced by [Christian pop music], although it continues to air [Free Speech Radio News] at 5:00 p.m. Central Time.

On weekends, the station airs syndicated programs such as "20 The Countdown Magazine" and "Direct Connection" which are usually run on traditional broadcast stations within the Christian genre.

According to on-air personalities, the station recently changed ownership and the station's website is undergoing major changes (and the program schedule is not currently online) so as if this writing it remains an open question as to when, if ever, some of the public and community radio programming will return on weekday afternoons.

Dance With Me, Henry was the last film the great comedy team of Bud Abbott and Lou Costello made together, and far from their worst. Costello is the proprietor of Kiddyland, an amusement park, an appropriate character for his child like comedy style. Abbott is his gambling partner. The main part of the plot concerns crooks Abbott is indebted to, but there's a subplot about orphans and Costello losing custody of his kids due to a nosy, prim social worker played to perfection by the great character actress Mary Wickes (Who Done It?, On Moonlight Bay, Father Dowling Mysteries). The supporting cast also includes former child star Gigi Perreau, Robert Shayne (who played Inspector Henderson on Superman) as the district attorney, and, as the Priest at the orphanage, Frank Wilcox, recognizable from numerous TV guest shots like Brewster on The Beverly Hillbillies, Wally's principal on Leave It To Beaver, and a judge on Perry Mason. Much of the comedy in this one may seem hackneyed or aimed at children - such as the extensive chase through the amusement park at the end - but there is some good original comedy as well, such as when Lou, suspected of murdering the DA, is questioned by cops, and gradually through the long, intense interrogation, he breaks down each cop, one after another. Plus, it's the only A & C film with rock music, or at least Rythm & Blues. Dance With Me Henry is an appropirate final film for the great team, with higher production values than many of their other later films, certainly far better than Africa Screams, for instance, but more memorable for the characters they play than for laughs.

From these grassy knolls grew a perhaps guiltier pleasure as Gordon started dialing in the country stations often enough to sing along to new hits. Or perhaps the old ones, as Mike had Hank's “Jambalaya” on infinite repeat on the car tape deck for a whole summer. When Bruce Hampton asked what tape Gordox would take to a deserted island, it was Hank's Greatest Hits Volume I, or maybe II - either way Bruce agreed.

So think of the joy our bass-guy felt when stumbling into Burlington's Radio Bean to hear the silky voice of Brett Hughes and various friends every Tuesday night. Why not bring the insanely delicious country-side of Scott Murawski into the mix to form Ramble Dove (a name taken from MG's country star cameo in his own movie Outside Out). Gordon Stone's pedal steel has mucho icing, as well as Neil Cleary's drumming and singing, and Marie Claire's ivory tinkling and golden voice. So many greats have strolled in on Tuesdays, like Michetti from RAQ or Aya, all anchored by Hughes as tonk-spirit of the town. For Gacto, this has been a dream come true - walking into a tiny room and gettin' that funky country sound with sweet, sad old songs that we've always loved despite never having heard. A simple sound can create such a deep soul searchification, and for this reason Mike-Eliot wanted to bring the outfit out of Vermont and into America. Plus, they are going to Bonnaroo.

Optical vortices are optical beams carrying angular momentum propagating in media.

There are many areas of physics and industry that would benefit from understanding of the behavior of optical vortices. Lately there has been research done on the possibility of using the orbital angular momentum of light for optical encoding. In Padgett et. al. demonstrate transfer of information encoded as orbital angular momentum (OAM) states of a light beam. Spin angular momentum is already used in quantum cryptography to encode information but spin angular momentum only has two distinct states: left or right hand circular polarization. For light with nonzero OAM, many states are possible, with higher states denoting tighter corkscrews. For this reason, one can encode a huge amount of information in an OAM beam by creating light made of a superposition of many OAM states.

Information encoded in OAM also offers a level security that is not dependent on mathematical of quantum-mechanical encryption methods. In order to determine the OAM, the whole wave front pattern needs to be sampled. A sample of the beam away from its axis will give a fraction of the OAM information and thus an uncertainty in the measurement. If a detector is placed in the middle of the beam the receiver end will notice that the whole beam is not received. In summary, this opens new interesting area of information encoding.

However, the challenge is how do we control the propagation of such light phenomenon to serve the purpose we want. Optical vortices in free space tend to diffract. Such vortices in bulk material tend to break up into fundamental solitons and fly of the vortex ring. Lately, however it has been discovered that such vortices can be stabilized by modulated photonic lattices in photorefractive crystals.

Ilan Rubin

Sources

http://www.remo.com/portal/artists/4775/Ilan_Rubin.html

Ilan Rubin has been playing drums in bands for the last 8 years. No big deal right? Well, it's impressive if you consider that Ilan Rubin is only 17 years-old! He started his musical career at the age of 9, playing drums for San Diego band F.o.N. This put Ilan on the road, in the recording studio, and eventually on several Warped Tour stints. A trip to Rome, New York with F.o.N. landed him in the Guinness Book of World Records as the Youngest Musician (age 11) to ever play Woodstock. One year later, at the age of 12, Ilan was voted "Best Undiscovered Drummer" in the World in the "18 and under" category by Modern Drummer Magazine and was flown to New Jersey to perform at the prestigious Modern Drummer Festival. The "over 18" winner was flown in from Argentina, hence the title "Best in the world". Since then, Ilan has been featured in Modern Drummer, DRUM!, and Alternative Press magazines. In 2002, Ilan joined Denver Harbor, which featured members of FenixTX (MCA/Drive Thru Records) and gained even more notoriety for his powerful and tricky yet tasteful drumming on their major label debut "Scenic". On his off time Ilan does session drumming and has worked with producers Bob Rock, Mark Trombino, and Joe Marlett. Ilan is endorsed by Paiste Cymbals, OCDP Drums, REMO Drumheads, Vater Drumsticks, Beato Bags and DW Hardware. From late 2005 to early 2006, Ilan filled in with FenixTX for a couple U.S. tours and a Japanese tour. Ilan is currently playing drums for welsh-rockers Lostprophets. Ilan played a few tracks on their latest release "Liberation Transmission" and will be touring around the world in support of this new album.

I started the Hahavishnu in 1975 out of Atlanta, Ga. after receiving a lot of early morning radio airplay on WIIN. The group was an instant success in clubs and concerts in the south before expanding the areas of performance. Receiving critical acclaim from Rolling Stone, Playboy and other magazines & publications only helped the groups drawing ability which included a ten day stand at New York's Bitter End (also referred to as The Other End) where rock luminaries such as Robert Palmer, Phoebe Snow, Leon Redbone, Doc Pomus and others would pack in nightly to see unique shows. One of my favorite places to perform was Austin, Texas' World Armadillo Headquarters. The group disbanded in 1975 and pictures and recordings can be seen on my website: www.music-comedy.com

With an almost obsessive urge to creatively express the action in his mind, Chadd Pierce has gone from nearly failing out of school, to using his irreverance for the normal to conquer in the world of advertising, marketing, and digital entertainment.

Pierce was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana-- 1980. Since early childhood, he was always known by family, friends and teachers as "different". He was not a sports-driven child, nor did he aspire to academic achievement-- though the latter came regardlessly.

Chadd knew that being labeled "weird" brought with it potential forgiveness when obviously not fitting in. With little to no social skills, he turned his knack for sketching into a way to gain positive response from peers, at one point selling pencil on paper for as little as a dime each. In art classes, he bordered on failing, constantly disobeying his teachers and "going his own way"-- which usually flew directly in the face of the authority figures' place on the food chain. This attitude would follow him.

His first job was short-lived: A bagger at a national grocery chain. Thought he spent only a short few months there, fromt the experience Pierce took a newfound disdain for corporate demands for strict obedience. A pizza place here, a buffalo wings bar there, he was drawn to a specific medium that seemed to be the only outlet for his bored yet eager mind: Radio.

After finding it easy to crank call dj's anonymously and ten minutes later hear his conversation on the air, he was hooked. He befriended night jock at WBYR, Woody, in late 1997 and after several "guest appearances" as a character ringer, Chadd convinced the acting program director and midday jock, Roxanne McVay, to allow his internship at the station.

Years passed, and Pierce grew in his ability to translate his brand of odd-but-attractive comedy to this aural medium. Catching the eye of WBYR Program Director Jim Fox (who began at WBYR shortly after Pierce became a paid part-time employee), he was given more responsibility and opportunity to shine. In 2000, Fox appointed Pierce night dj and-- what would lay the groundwork for his future-- Imaging Director.

Though bouncing from nights to mornings, Chadd was clearly a production prodigy and an assest to his environment. With his advancement came training, with training came more asset. In his 7 years with 98.9 "The Bear" (WBYR), he won commercial advertising awards and accolades from his peers and managers.

When Jim Fox departed The Bear in late 2003 for a high-profile position as station manager at KRXQ-- 98 Rock-- in Sacramento, California, he was months away from recruiting Chadd Pierce to make the move from his small hometown in Indiana to a larger market 2000 miles away.

Since the move, Pierce has won more awards, made several appearances in industry trades such as Radio and Production Magazine, and grown well into the position of Creative Services Director of both KRXQ and KWOD, the latter an alternative rock station. He has sold his ideas and produced comedy to outside sources, and is now handling the sound of WKQX, Q101 Chicago's 2nd HD channel, "Q2".

The imac Blueberry is a computer by Apple. this particular color was first released on the Rev. C iMacs, or as known as the Lifesaver Macs. The popularity of the color was amazing, since they couldn't keep them on the shelf. that goes with the Tangerine one too, which set Apple's mind to make those popular colors incorperated with their new laptop, the iBook. As Rev. D iMacs came out, people still wanted the Blueberry ones, but really, Tangerine was the top seller at this time. In 1999, Apple released the Slot loading iMac, which was first available in Blueberry. Many schools and consumers loved them, since it was easier to pop in a CD, and it was a better iMac to run on OSX. The price cut dramaticlly to $999, and then when the iMac DV came out (the slot loading fruit flavored ones with Graphite) dropped it down to $799. that was it for the Blueberry colored, but still people buy them today used.

The Best Medal is a Live Man's Smile

"The Best Meal is a Live Man's Smile" is the quote often used by Combat Helicopter Pilots and Aircrewmen and also by soldiers who have seen war first hand; It says it all -- the best that can happen is you are alive and out of the living hell of war you can smile. Those rescued, wounded and non-wounded, know its key truth. The phrase arose out of the book, 1369, written by H. Lee Bell and was used by a character in the book, SnowWhite. When they tried to give this helicopter pilot medals for saving the life of a kid, he refused. The command structure could not understand the idea that someone did not want medals. When confronted, the pilot who was able in next to impossible conditions to save lives said, "Snow no want medal, the Best Medal is a Live Man's Smile." This phrase is the motto of the US Marine Combat Helicopter Association. It is the underlying theme of the book, Thirteen Hundred Sixty Nine by hleebell.

Thirteen Sixtynine. The is a phrase written by soldiers during the Vietnam war on bodybags and used as slang to mean someone who was dead and in a bodybag. Part of the phrase arose out of the fact that the military occupational specialty of ground marines were ofter called the thirteen hundreds. This job number, 1369, became a common voice communication to rescue helicopters meaning that the individual was dead or had died. It is quietly yet commonly used in political cartoons, subliminal messages in aviation lingo, and continues to be used among many of the Vietnam generation. Sometimes this number, 13 69, was written on the end of a body bag. It meant unlucky.

Thamanya Sayadaw

Burma's most revered monk, Thamanya Sayadaw. is a strict vegetarian and resides in the Karen State, is also known to be a supporter of Suu Kyi. Thus it comes as no surprise that Suu Kyi, now free from house arrest, set out in 2002 on a religious pilgrimage to meet the highly respected monk.

Thamanya Sayadaw, 83, is an ethnic Pa-O from Kawt Kyeik village in the Karen State. And despite attempts by the military regime to win his respect, he has remained adamantly opposed to showing them any sort of admiration. Thamanya Sayadaw has been approached by the country's ruling generals—including Senior Gen Than Shwe and Lt Gen Khin Nyunt—on numerous occasions.

Over the years the monk has managed to keep his distance from the county's powerful leaders. On his 80th birthday the military government bestowed the highest religious title on Thamanya Sayadaw, but the monk repeatedly refused to come to Rangoon and accept the title, causing authorities to finally come to his temple to present the award.

However, in February of this year, Thamanya Sayadaw was forced to make a trip to Rangoon due to his health. The monk, who seldom visits the capital, was airlifted from his temple to Rangoon's private Asia Royal Hospital, where he received treatment. Lt Gen Khin Nyunt made all of the necessary arrangements as well as paid for all the expenses resulting from the trip.

After being transferred to the new Yangon General Hospital, Thamanya Sayadaw was visited by former Burmese strongman Ne Win and his family—including his grandsons who are now on trial for high treason. According to nurses and other eyewitness reports, Ne Win paid his respects to the monk from his wheelchair.

However, the monk's loyalties seem to lie with Aung San Suu Kyi. After being discharged from the hospital he reportedly visited Suu Kyi, who was under house arrest, at her lakeside compound in Rangoon.

The recent trip by Suu Kyi to Thamanya Hill, site of Thamanya Sayadaw's temple in the Karen State, was her second. Suu Kyi made the same pilgrimage in 1995, after being released from nearly six years of house arrest, to pay her respects to the monk.

Unlike other senior monks in Burma, who have been bought off by the regime, Thamanya Sayadaw continues to be respected throughout the country for his integrity and generous donations to local development projects.

Over the past ten years, the generals have built elaborate temples, bestowed luxury items and donated food and other items to some distinguished monks in exchange for their blessings and support.

In return for this preferential treatment given to them by the junta, some abbots have become mouthpieces for the ruling junta: frequently praising the government leaders in public. Selling out to the regime, however, has its price. The monks often find themselves shunned by the public or harshly criticized for being a puppet of the junta. According to Buddhist teachings, one job of a senior monk is to admonish a wrongdoer or sinner even if he is king.

Thamanya Sayadaw has not given in to temptation. He has shown his support for Suu Kyi and the people of Burma. The area surrounding his temple has been declared a "peace zone" despite both anti-Rangoon Karen soldiers and Burmese military troops operating in the area. Not only does he forbid fighting in the zone, but visitors to the area must also discard all non-vegetarian foods before entering.

The hundreds of families that live in the zone must also obey his rules of non-violence and vegetarianism. Thamanya Sayadaw has built schools, pagodas and provided maintenance for the local roads through the generous number of donations that he receives. According to his official horoscope, he will live until the age of 104.
