Alan G. MacDiarmid (April 14, 1927 – February 7, 2007) was a New Zealand chemist. He received the 2000 Nobel Prize in Chemistry together with Alan Heeger and Hideki Shirakawa for "the discovery and development of conductive polymers". [1]

He was born in Masterton, New Zealand and died in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, United States.
