Benny Golson (January 25, 1929 – September 21, 2024) was an American bebop/hard bop jazz tenor saxophonist, composer, and arranger.[1] He was a member of Lionel Hampton and Dizzy Gillespie led bands. Golson is known for co-founding and co-leading The Jazztet with trumpeter Art Farmer in 1959. His best known song is "I Remember Clifford".
Golson died at his home in New York City on September 21, 2024, at the age of 95.[2]
