The Troublesome Reign and Lamentable Death of Edward the Second, King of England, with the Tragical Fall of Proud Mortimer is a play by Christopher Marlowe. It is a history play. It was probably written no earlier than 1590. Marlowe's source was probably Holinshed's Chronicles. The play is about King Edward II's downfall and his homosexual passion for Piers Gaveston.[1]
