Description

This photograph shows the crew of HMCS Protector, a gunboat sent by South Australia to China in 1900. Her Captain was W R Cresswell.

This black and white photo is one of a number of photos that belonged to my Great Grandfather, John Denzil Etoile Turner (died 1949), who is in the photo. The collection has been handed down from generation to generation and now belongs to me (en:User:Spy007au). Written on the back of the photo is "Protector Crew about 1900".
