James Adam Ponsoldt (lahir 1978) adalah seorang sutradara film, aktor dan penulis skenario Amerika.[2] Dia menyutradarai film drama Off the Black (2006), Smashed (2012), drama komedi romantis The Spectacular Now (2013), drama The End of the Tour (2015) dan The Circle (2017).
Kehidupan awal
[sunting | sunting sumber]Ponsoldt lahir di Athens, Georgia. Dia adalah putra dari James F. dan Susan E. Ponsoldt, dan cucu dari seniman grafis William Teason.[3] Ayahnya adalah pensiunan profesor hukum yang sebelumnya bekerja di University of Georgia.[4] Dia dibesarkan di Athens dan bersekolah di Cedar Shoals High School. Ia menerima gelar sarjana dari Universitas Yale dan lulus dari Universitas Columbia dengan gelar MFA dalam penyutradaraan.[5][6] Ponsoldt juga lulusan Program Profesional dalam Penulisan Skenario dan Produksi di Sekolah Teater, Film, dan Televisi UCLA.[7][8][9]
