Michael L. Downs is a United States Air Force major general who served as the vice director of the Joint Staff. He previously served as the deputy director, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations of the Joint Staff.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

In July 2024, Downs was nominated and confirmed for promotion to lieutenant general and assignment as associate director for military affairs of the Central Intelligence Agency.[7][8]
