Monounsaturated fat
Appearance
A monounsaturated fat is a kind of fat found in foods such as nuts, olives, and avocados.[1] They are the main fat in olive oil. The group contrasts with, on the one hand, unsaturated fats. and on the other hand, polyunsaturated fats.[2]
In general, these fats are considered to be healthier than others. They have the same amount of energy, but they reduce blood cholesterol levels. This reduces the risk to the heart.
