Olbrachcice [ɔlbraxˈt͡ɕit͡sɛ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Biała, within Prudnik County, Opole Voivodeship, in southern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 5 kilometres (3 mi) south-east of Biała, 11 km (7 mi) north-east of Prudnik, and 38 km (24 mi) south-west of the regional capital Opole. Historically located in Upper Silesia, in the Prudnik Land.
History
[edit]It was a possession of the Order of Saint Paul the First Hermit until secularization in 1810.[2] In 1861, it had a population of 613, entirely Roman Catholic by confession.[2]
16 Polish citizens were murdered by Nazi Germany in the village during World War II.[3]
