- 16:2016:20, 22 December 2020 diff hist −217 Hindu Kush Made three edits to keep the article neutral - 1. moved the statement 'Several theories have been propounded... to the beginning of section. 2 Removed the subtitle 'Hindu-killer' while retaining all its information. Having a separate subtitle implies that it is the primary meaning when in reality there is no consensus among historians. Removed 2 unreliable references cited in support of the Hindu-killer meaning (one by a pilot, one by fiction writer), and 2 encyclopedia refs. Hope this helps. Tag: Reverted

- 00:0600:06, 19 December 2020 diff hist −1,267 Hindu Kush The controversy regarding name of the Mountain range and its meaning needs to be better addressed. The Hindu killer interpretations is not unanimous. 4 References were deleted as they were not reliable (Authors were not historians and did not have the authority to claim that they knew what the term means). I have retained the quote from Samuel Lee's interpretation of 'Travels of Ibn Battuta' even though it has been explained earlier. Ideally, it seems unnecessary. Tag: Reverted

- 17:2117:21, 14 July 2020 diff hist +366 List of oldest continuously inhabited cities I accept your argument that finding an artifact from 1500 BC at a port-city may not be a proof of 'continuous' habitation but it is almost impossible to provide a proof of year by year (or even century by century) habitation when we are talking about a city that old. Also, I wonder if all the other cities listed here were subjected to same rigorous check. Regardless, I feel the city at least deserves mention. I have peer-reviewed refs for 1500BC and 400AD. I will be glad to share with you. Tag: Undo
- 17:0817:08, 14 July 2020 diff hist −193 List of oldest continuously inhabited cities I feel that you have misinterpreted the article. The line you are quoting talks about 'what was previously believed'. I will urge you to re-read the article. You might discern what it is saying - this new finding (of 4000 year old crafts and a scripture pillar) is significant because previously most international scholars believed that Varanasi was 3000 years old. The direct quote of team leader - "On the basis of the surface materials we can say the structure is between 3,500 to 4000 year old". Tag: Undo

- 02:1602:16, 13 July 2020 diff hist +366 List of oldest continuously inhabited cities Page 223, line 7 of the book clearly states 'There is a thermoluminescence dating of 1570 BCE from Bet Dwarka, which is considered to be a late Harappan site". How is it not a reliable source? The book is published by Pearson publication - a reputed publishing house. The author is Upendar Singh - Professor Emeritus in the Department of History at the University of Delhi. And perhaps the criteria you will value most - this book has 476 reviews on an American websites called Amazon.com. Tag: Undo
- 01:5101:51, 13 July 2020 diff hist +159 List of oldest continuously inhabited cities The article I cited is from 'The Hindu' a 150 year old newspaper of India with a daily readership of 1.5 million. I feel that it is way more credible than many citations used on this page. I have added another reference. The excavated settlement is 13 km from Varanasi city and still within 'Varanasi District'. Also, the reference says that archaeologists believe the settlement to be a 'feeder village', which by definition are satellite villages that develop 'AFTER' a big city has developed. Tag: Undo
