Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
Appearance
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

- To list a technical request: Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:
This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.
{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

- Malaya Berestovitsa (currently a redirect to Malaya Byerastavitsa) → Malaya Byerastavitsa (move · discuss) – Per WP:BELARUSIANNAMES. Mellk (talk) 09:58, 24 October 2023 (UTC) Mellk (talk) 09:58, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
- That guideline says to follow BGN/PCGN romanization of Belarusian, and I might be wrong here, but it seems to be at the correct title according to that translation. EggRoll97 (talk) 23:53, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
- This is the romanization of the name in Russian (Малая Берестовица, Malaya Berestovitsa) rather than Belarusian (Малая Бераставіца, Malaya Byerastavitsa). In general only the titles of the regional capitals are based on Russian due to WP:COMMONNAME. I would also add that the district it belongs to is Byerastavitsa District and the administrative center is Vyalikaya Byerastavitsa. Mellk (talk) 05:44, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- @EggRoll97: I think Mellk is correct here. Would you look again at your link and note whether you still want to contest this? SilverLocust 💬 16:02, 25 October 2023 (UTC)

- The Common Program (1949) (currently a redirect to Common Program) → Common Program (move · discuss) – Make shorter (WP:CONCISE, WP:PRECISE) Cfls (talk) 17:50, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
- Not sure if this would cause confusion with Programme commun. Would say this is a potentially controversial move. EggRoll97 (talk) 23:59, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
- Brenizer Method (currently a redirect to Brenizer method) → Brenizer method (move · discuss) – WP:MOSCAPS Tony (talk) 02:51, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- Some sources seem to use "Breziner Method": https://www.adorama.com/alc/10-brenizer-method-tips-for-beautiful-panoramic-stitching/, https://hayleyrobertsphoto.com/brenizer-method/, https://www.slrlounge.com/glossary/brenizer-method/, https://petapixel.com/2022/08/15/massive-brenizer-method-portraits-made-from-16-medium-format-photos/. - Tony1, did you mean to suggest changing the spelling too, or was that just a typo? Extraordinary Writ (talk) 04:20, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- Oops, sorry. Will fix now. Tony (talk) 07:18, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- Mike Johnson (Louisiana politician) (currently a redirect to Mike Johnson) → Mike Johnson (move · discuss) – Subject was just elected Speaker of the House. This title should be simplified to just Mike Johnson, while the existing Michael Johnson disambig page should be renamed "Michael Johnson (disambiguation)", and the current "Mike Johnson" redirect to that disambiguation page should be removed, in favor of an {other uses} at the top of this article. Cpotisch (talk) 19:27, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- Cpotisch this is a potentially controversial page move, please start a discussion. The easiest way to do this is to click discuss. Lightoil (talk) 19:35, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
