SH CopyStar
[edit]Lars Schenk and Frank Horn wrote SH CopyStar for Windows. It's similar to 2M and FDFORMAT in that it can format floppy disks to many non-standard formats with different numbers of sectors and tracks. It can also copy disks that have unformatted areas, either duplicating the unformatted areas or not. It can also read a disk into memory, defragment the files then write them to another disk. It can also create uncompressed and compressed disk images. It's a hard to find program now. Bizzybody (talk) 04:12, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
Merge proposal
[edit]I propose merging 2M (DOS into Floppy disk. I think this particular target isn't notable, and can be easilh summed up on the target page as to what it did back in the 90s.Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:58, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose. The Floppy disk article is already too long and incorporation would be inconsistent since that article does not cover the many formats - this article should be linked from List_of_floppy_disk_formats or possibly incorporated into it. Tom94022 (talk) 18:21, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose 2M (dos) is worthy of it's own page and as tom said the flopy disk article is quite long 2406:2D40:4092:9310:C03F:4491:FA76:4F0F (talk) 21:26, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
