Add a source to this; otherwise it violates BLP issues. It is down to you - the individual adding information citing him as a criminal - to provide evidence of this. Synorem (talk) 14:25, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi,
The part "Furthermore, an examination of call records revealed contacts with various contractors, builders, and real estate firm owners. Abbas Ansari allegedly communicated with them, orchestrating his illicit activities from jail, particularly after heightened security measures were implemented around his father, Mukhtar Ansari..."... seems too trivial and intricate to be mentioned on biography article page.
If anyone disagrees, please say now.

What's the point of removing the source claiming that he is a criminal. Also, his father was first an Indian gangster then turned into a politician. Also, so many unnecessary things are included in his background about his great grandfather and uncles. So, I propose to remove irrelevant things from his background as well as propose to add in his intro as a convicted criminal and son of a Indian gangster turned politician. There's no removing of part of him being criminal, but why do we need to go in-depth detail about his activities?.. just a basic mention should suffice. Also, if in background we mention about his father, why should we omit his grand-father's mention? His grandfather is a notble personality with a dedicated wiki page about him. Concur - adding the salacious details pushed this into an a semi-WP:ATTACK page on a BLP and were WP:UNDUE weight. I'm going to tweak it slightly based on the APBLive source. My interpretation is that he has been arrested and is held without bail at the moment. I cannot find any sources for a conviction on those charges. Ravensfire (talk) 01:11, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And the source our blocked sock was using to support "convicted" doesn't say anything of the source, it does support what I said above - he's held without bail and still awaiting trial. I'm going to add that as an additional source to the para. Ravensfire (talk) 01:15, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There was an edit today that changed the first sentence of the article from "...current MLA..." to "... jailed MLA".[1] I reverted it as NPOV in the first sentence, but it did start me thinking about the lead in general. Should there be a mention there that Ansari is in jail awaiting trial for money laundering? Ravensfire (talk) 22:10, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
