Nonsense statement
[edit]What is this sentence supposed to mean? "However, some of this changes in a text written in the last year or two of Tolkien's life (published in The Peoples of Middle-earth) of 1968." Tolkien died in 1973, so 1968 is not "in the last year or two of Tolkien's life". I suggest it be rewritten as follows: "However, some of this was to change in a text written in 1968, and subsequently published in The Peoples of Middle-earth." I don't have the book, so I can't check.--Rfsmit (talk) 23:41, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
Palando is the one with the moom Moth. I think Tolkien says he has lots of them. Thats why he helps gandalf and is at the Battle when the Eye is destroyed and falls down. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.230.126.96 (talk) 13:17, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
Naming In The Hobbit
[edit]"In the 2012 film The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Gandalf refers to the Blue Wizards, but says that he doesn't remember their names, an apparent reference to Tolkein's ambiguous naming of them."
I read a comment on line that suggested that Gandalf's refusal to name them was more to do with copyright laws than with the ambiguous naming issue - that since their names only appear in other works, the producers couldn't get the rights to use them.
