Pamela Baskin-Watson
[edit]What is the relationship between Ms. Watson and Bobby Watson? It seems a basic piece of information, since Ms. Baskin-Watson's composition "Ms. BC" was recorded by both Bobby Watson (big band) and Art Blakely & the Jazz Messengers. She is also featured as a vocalist on a recording "Soulful Serendipity" by James Williams and Bobby Watson. http://www.allaboutjazz.com/php/article.php?id=23509
Ideally, she should have her own wikipedia entry, but any familial relationship should be stated. (In plain English, I just wanna know if they are married. "Ms. BC" is one of my favorite songs and I'd like to get the story straight on it.)Diggnity 09:09, 17 March 2007 (UTC) Diggnity 09:09, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
- This says she's his wife. Badagnani 18:59, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Is this article not almost a copy of the biography in the website? If so, we can mail Watson he might agree to let us use it. Neenche (talk) 20:06, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
- After some research, it seems they may have copied it from us (though I'm not certain either way). This is the early edit (12 August 2006) that puts in some of the key current structure.
- Using Internet Archive, we can check against the official site. The listing of the home page is at http://web.archive.org/web/20060715000000*/http://www.bobbywatson.com/ . The last crawl before August 12 is July 12, 2006. However, that shows as November 13, 2006, indicating that perhaps July 12 wasn't a full crawl. Similarly, the enter link is http://web.archive.org/web/20061113162442/http://bobbywatson.com/flash.html , which is also too late. The earliest crawl for that Flash page (listing) turns out to be that November 13, 2006 one.
- So, basically, we don't have enough information to know who copied who. I can say with certainty that the old bio (Internet Archive listing) is quite different. It was last crawled August 30, 2005, and is quite different (e.g. a big part of it's just a recommendation for Live & Learn). Superm401 - Talk 04:09, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
This ain't much useful
[edit]If Mr. Watson is such an important jazz figure as this text seems to imply, how come nobody took the bother to put here little more than his website [authorized] biography?
