D'après l'article, Charles de Solier est mort en 1552 ; son fils François de Solier, mort en 1541, prend alors sa succession. Peut-être s'agit-il plutôt de son petit fils ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.93.101.133 (talk) 10:03, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:Hans Holbein the Younger - Charles de Solier, Sieur de Morette - Google Art Project.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on February 3, 2017. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2017-02-03. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :) Thanks! howcheng {chat} 04:33, 29 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Charles de Solier, comte de Morette
Charles de Solier, comte de Morette was a French soldier and diplomat as well as a long-serving gentilhomme de la chambre to King Francis I. He was in London in 1534 as France's ambassador when Henry VIII was attempting to win French support for his repudiation of Catherine of Aragon, in an alliance against Charles V. Around this time, this portrait was painted.Painting: Hans Holbein the Younger

Perhaps we could add information from one of these sources:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valet_de_chambre

https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premier_gentilhomme_de_la_Chambre

We'd need translation help on the second one.
