Merge content from Today with...
[edit]The 1-2 lines in that article would be fine here, and maybe the programme should have one general article, but not one per presenter. 194.154.70.176 (talk) 10:48, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
- I like the alternative suggestion: so, perhaps merge Today with Claire Byrne, Today with Sarah McInerney, Today with Pat Kenny and Today with Seán O'Rourke to Today (RTÉ Radio 1). They share a similar structure. Klbrain (talk) 10:50, 15 September 2021 (UTC)
- Merge (to combined show title). I agree with Klbrain. That a combined target (dealing with the show/format as a whole, rather than redirecting each title to the article on each presenter) would be better. Whether the title of this combined/show-focused article is titled "Today (RTÉ Radio 1)" (or some other variant) I don't have an opinion. But otherwise happy to help as needed. Guliolopez (talk) 19:18, 28 December 2021 (UTC)
- Bump. It has been more than 9 months since this proposal/discussion was opened. In the absence of any further input, I propose to do the following:
- Rename (move) the Today with Pat Kenny article to Today with ... (RTÉ Radio 1)
- Merge the content in Today with Seán O'Rourke, Today with Sarah McInerney and Today with Claire Byrne into the renamed article.
- Redirect the Today with Seán O'Rourke, Today with Sarah McInerney, Today with Claire Byrne and Today with Pat Kenny titles to the new (Today with ... (RTÉ Radio 1)) target.
- I propose this for the reasons noted above (that, in effect, we have four articles which cover the same show/subject; And that it seems redundant to have individual articles covering the "tenure" of each presenter on what amounts to the same show.) I have updated the related/disparate "merge" hatnotes to refer to this updated discussion and proposal. Guliolopez (talk) 01:01, 16 January 2022 (UTC)
- Support. It's only sensible for it to be organized as stated above.--Lahti213 (talk) 21:48, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
- Resolved OK. Given that it's been 9 months since this thread was originally opened, and there seems to be support (or at least no objection) to renaming/merging/redirecting the respective "Today with ..." titles to a single target, that is what I've done. In short, I've renamed the 'main' "Today with ...." article, merged the overlapping and near verbatim duplicating content (from Today with Seán O'Rourke and Today with Sarah McInerney and Today with Claire Byrne) to that renamed article, and redirected each title to the updated target. In the process it has clarified for me just how much duplication, overlap, redundancy and context was shared between each article. Confirming, in my mind at least, that this was the right solution. Relative to WP:MERGEREASON. Closing thread. Guliolopez (talk) 20:11, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
