deadmau5 Circa 1998-2002
It's now a dead link, but here is an archive of the original official source. It states it's called "deadmau5 Circa 1998-2002", and provides a tracklist. --Sumguy1994 (talk) 01:38, 21 April 2012 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: Not moved. (non-admin closure) Obi-Wan Kenobi (talk) 21:14, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
Deadmau5 Circa 1998–2002 → Deadmaus Circa 1998–2002 – To remove typographic styling from first word and correspond with the recent move of the article about the artist from "Deadmau5" to "Deadmaus". As per MOS:TM: "Follow standard English text formatting and capitalization rules, even if the trademark owner considers nonstandard formatting "official", as long as this is a style already in use, rather than inventing a new one"; "Avoid using special characters that are not pronounced, are included purely for decoration." Per canonical Seven/Se7en example. BarrelProof (talk) 17:43, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
- You can move it right now since one its a redlink, and the main article was recently moved after a successful move request. The discography article was moved for that same reason so this should be a straightforward followup.--174.95.111.89 (talk) 01:18, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
- I guess that's true, but I wanted to be a bit cautious in case someone thought it was more important to preserve styling for the title of a creative work, so I submitted a move request. —BarrelProof (talk) 16:13, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose I think the Deadmau5→Deadmaus move was a temporary mistake that will soon be undone. I'm sure that move will soon be reversed and then this move would also have to be reversed. Also, the requested title results in 4 google results (all of which are links to this page), whereas the current title is mentioned on about 55,000 sites. Capscap (talk) 05:27, 7 June 2013 (UTC)
- If the other move gets reverted, then I certainly agree that this move request should be abandoned. The naming should be consistent for the two articles. —BarrelProof (talk) 22:09, 7 June 2013 (UTC)

- Oppose - I agree that the Deadmau5-->Deadmaus move was a mistake that should be undone as soon as possible. Deadmau5 is solidly supported when you apply the basic principles outlined at our WP:Article titles policy... It is significantly more recognizable (being the WP:COMMONNAME, used by an overwhelming majority of sources... and preferred by high end reliable sources like Rolling Stone magazine). It is also more natural when linking in other articles, and more precise (being what the artist actually calls himself). Now we can add the principle of consistency to that list of principles that support that title (ie there are a range of articles that all use Deadmau5 in their titles, so it is more consistent to continue to use that spelling/styling). The alternative Deadmaus is only supported by one guideline... and the relevant provision in that guideline is currently under discussion and I have to question whether it enjoys broad community consensus. - Oppose - See my reasoning below. This is an album title. You can't just change it like you apparently can with a person's name. MidnightRequestLine (talk) 20:40, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

Note to any editors trying to bring the word "Deadmaus" to this article's title
This is the name of an album. Note that it is in italics. The word deadmau5 is part of the album's title. It is NOT referring to the artist, it is referring to the album. You cannot go and modify the name of an album title. The current name (Deadmau5 circa 1998-2002) coheres with WP:MOS. Please do not change it based on the argument that WP:MOSTM doesn't allow 5's in trademark names. MidnightRequestLine (talk) 20:17, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
- The MOS does not cover page titles, it covers the style inside an articles. For policy and guidance on article titles one must refer to WP:AT and its naming conventions (guidelines). -- PBS (talk) 07:40, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
Thank you both for your opinions. However, I believe you know that not everyone agrees with the views that either of you expressed. —BarrelProof (talk) 16:25, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
@PBS - tell that to the people at Talk:Deadmaus. MidnightRequestLine (talk) 16:39, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
Removal of Talk page history
Don't we usually keep the previous comments on a Talk page after converting an article to a redirect? —BarrelProof (talk) 17:10, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
- No response, so I just restored the removed Talk comments. –BarrelProof (talk) 23:05, 7 July 2013 (UTC)
