Suggest Merger of Fort Gibson National Cemetery into the Fort Gibson article, and note this is not a separate NRHP

[edit]

Contrary to the statement in its article up to this point, Fort Gibson National Cemetery is NOT listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Fort Gibson (which can be viewed as including the cemetery), is listed. I suggest merging the cemetery article into the Fort Gibson article. doncram (talk) 02:57, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Strongly oppose proposed merger. Fort Gibson National Cemetery lies on the east side of the town of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Fort Gibson Stockade, the original fort (formerly cantonment) lies on the west side by the river. These locations are about 2 or 3 miles apart and not now connected through a continuous sequence of adjacent parcels of land. Dufekin (talk) 19:14, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree

[edit]

Since its a military cemetery I think it should still keep its own page. The National cemetery is currently under construction to make the property accommodate many more burials. Darkskynet (talk) 23:18, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article rating

[edit]

There have been many improvements in this article since it was originally rated as a stub. I believe it deserves at least a C rating. Bruin2 (talk) 01:31, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
