Replace Gurgaon with Gurugram as the article name/link and the main name of the city as over the course of the last few years, the new name has been adopted for colloquial usage by the people of the Delhi NCR and of Gurugram. The name "Gurgaon" should also remain as it is still widely used and wont be phased out in the foreseeable future. 2&TmCt (talk) 08:19, 26 December 2023 (UTC)
- Not done: Can't be done like this. Seems like "Gurgaon" is WP:COMMONNAME as of now. You can make a proper WP:RSPM. The outcome of the RfC will decide. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:02, 26 December 2023 (UTC)

1. Transport section, Airways sub-section, Airport sub-sub-section: Add the following.
Gurugram Airstrip is an airstrip located in Gurgaon near Silokhera village, which also included in the list of underserved a strips eligible for UDAN scheme.[1][2][3]
2. Transport section, Airways sub-section: add the "Heliport Hub" new sub-sub-section
Gurugram Heliport Hub, one of the 10 helicopter hubs and corridors in the new helicopter policy of the Union civil aviation ministry, is being established on 25 acre near Global City, Dwarka Expressway, NH-48, metro train, sectors 36 and 37, etc. It will attain the objective of NCRPB Regional Plan 2041 to introduce heli-taxi services in NCR from heliport hub to IGI Airport and various destinations within 2 hours heli-flying distance. Haley have facilities include heliport, hangers, repairs and other related services.[4] Thank you. 119.74.238.54 (talk) 09:05, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
- Gurugram Airstrip isn't notable enough, it might get merged in another article. Gurugram Heliport Hub isn't notable either. Let the draft get into the namespace. And in both cases, that much explanation isn't necessary. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:43, 20 January 2024 (UTC)

Failed move to Gurugram
[edit]Previous move discussions have failed, and I have chosen to simply remove the request from WP:RM/TR in Special:Diff/1213690414 as I do not think that the WP:COMMONNAME has changed from Gurgaon to Gurugram, and starting yet another requested move would likely lead to more oppose votes. See also #Official name is Gurugram above.
So, will the common name ever change to Gurugram? An optimist (glass is half full) would answer "Yes, eventually", while a pessimist (glass is half empty) would answer "No, never". The default answer (in the absence of any evidence) is the pessimistic one, so the common name would remain as Gurgaon for all eternity.

- @GTrang: Thanks. Looks like some users (new and ones with POV) do not want to participate in the process of WP:RM discussions and sneakily post requests at WP:RM/TR. I've seen atleast 2 articles getting changed like that despite the common name still being older name. Thanks for taking care of this one. Isn't it disruptive, especially when the user tried it twice [1] [2]? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:36, 14 March 2024 (UTC)
Renamed from Gurgaon to Gurugram
[edit]The official name of Gurgaon was changed to Gurugram by the government of Haryana in 2016. Let me know if you need references for the same. Piyush09ranjannn (talk) 12:02, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
- It depends on the WP:COMMONNAME, and "Gurgaon" still is the common name, has more hits. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:48, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
