Can anyone tell me how to get the title in caps "Holloway Sanatorium" - I don't want "Holloway sanatorium"? P0mbal (talk) 12:27, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
The fire
[edit]There is a source here that although largely similar to the explanation given here, reports the cause of the 1978 fire as a patient setting fire to bedding, not the cinema, and the number of minor injuries as seven, not one. [1] Billwilson5060 (talk) 10:43, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
Interesting. I put in the bit about the fire. The Times newspaper does not tell of the cause. My source "The Virginia Water Picture Book" is by creditable local historian Dorothy Davis. The cinema is a specific scource, and fired bedding might appear to be rumour from speculative talk which there would have been at the time, and understandable as the fire spread to wards which were also damaged. What was your source? P0mbal (talk) 11:04, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
The source is just if you click on the "1" - a look back at a journal about firefighting from the time. Billwilson5060 (talk) 10:47, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
Thank you, Bill. I note your source which looks credible is about an event 25 years ago from April 2003, making the fire April 1978 if it is accurate to the month. Dorothy Davis' account is of 2/3 months earlier. Different dates, different sources, did Dorothy get the month wrong - different fire or the same fire? We need another source for confirmation, or report both versions for the time being. P0mbal (talk) 10:55, 22 July 2009 (UTC) Maybe if the journal is quarterly the April date is not sigificant - the February event would have been in the April quarter of the year.
