Is it really the largest city of Sudan in population?
[edit]Most sources list it as being second, with Omdurman being the largest . The only census of 2019 I've could find also listed it as being the second largest (http://worldpopulationreview.com/countries/sudan-population/). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 187.44.92.103 (talk) 20:47, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
Old talk

Page says: "The Arab League summit of March 28-29, 2006 was held in Khartoum, during which the Arab League awarded Sudan the Arab League presidency."
Citatation?? Given the situation in the Sudan this seems unlikely. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.30.178.236 (talk) 10:52, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
Picture of Downtown Khartoum
[edit]The picture showing "downtown Khartoum" used in the Economy section (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:RuwiEvening.jpg ) appears to be taken in Muscat, Oman. It's being used at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oman and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tourism_in_Oman where it's claimed to depict the Ruwi commercial district of Muscat. Can anyone verify? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.201.147.34 (talk) 10:35, 25 October 2012 (UTC)
[Untitled]
[edit]I ereaseed a picture titled "Downtown Khartum at night". I don't know where the picture was taken but 100% not in Khartum. It looks more like Oman or Yemen, given the hills in the foreground. Given the roadsigns, it looks like Oman, actually. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.135.149.182 (talk) 17:25, 17 November 2012 (UTC)
sunlight hours in winter look too high
[edit]based on calculations obtained from http://astro.unl.edu/classaction/animations/coordsmotion/daylighthoursexplorer.html for 15.3 degrees north the maximum possible sunlight hours in december are ~345 yet the sunlight hours are listed at 341 which is ~99% of possible, to put that into perspective the sunniest place on earth (Yuma, Arizona) has 90% possible sunlight hours. desert climates are sunny but not 99% of the time, so there is probably an error whether it is a transcription error or a methodological difference in how a sunlight hour is measured. What is missing from the recently created city timeline article? Please add relevant content. Contributions welcome. Thank you. -- M2545 (talk) 16:12, 19 May 2015 (UTC)
neighborhoods
[edit]I have a Sudanese guy I work with who's been trying to explain to me what the different neighborhoods of Khartoum are, so when I came here to try verify their spelling and stuff, I was surprised to see that the article didn't have any section on Khartoum's neighborhoods whatsoever! Could someone maybe help me write such a section? Thanks. Cooljeanius (talk) (contribs) 20:44, 23 May 2015 (UTC)
