[edit]This is obviously a start. It would be fine if someone can get the true number of votes she got at the VP nomination. And of course her birth date, and some material about her first marriage. --Dumarest 16:33, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
- I have been studying Lena Jones Springs for about 13 years or so. She was born in Pulaski, TN on March 23, 1883. Her parents were Thomas Meriwether & May Buford Jones. She married at the age of 18 to Henry Pointer Wade of Pulaski whom died a few years later. In 1913 she married Colonel Leroy Springs, banker and textile manufacturer. She moved with him to Lacaster, South, Carolina.
- Governor Thomas G. McLeod of South, Carolina placed Mrs. Springs in nomination and Governor Cameron Morrison of North Carolina second the nomination. The final official report of the roll call gave her 18 votes, originally 51 votes were cast for Mrs. Springs.(Kress3-klj (talk) 01:47, 11 February 2008 (UTC))
- I would love to expand the item, but references are needed. Do you have sources for that material? --Dumarest (talk) 12:20, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
