It seems the German exonyms used in this list are from the early 20th century. At the same time there is a link to a map of the Baltics with "the then in use placenames". Interesting fact about this map is, that many towns have different German exonyms than the ones mentioned in the list, especially in the Vitebsk Guberna with a Latinised version of the Russian name (like Relitza for Rositten (Rēzekne) and Liutsin for Ludsen (Ludza)). The map also has older versions of German exonyms (like Tukum - Tuckum in list, Jacobstat - Jakobstadt in list). I would like to know what the definition should be for the German exonyms in this list? --Philaweb 21:29, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
