Found some sources

[edit]

In the article history of Weatherman (organization), where this comes from, this comment[1] lists sources. Wikidemon (talk) 08:13, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Spot checking sources

[edit]

In a spot check of sources allegedly tying the Weather Underground to police officer deaths, I see that the State Street [Bank] and Trust robbery was not a Weatherman action. It is cited only to congressional testimony, which upon examination does not mention the bank or the two robbers. Further, claims made in congressional testimony are generally not reliable sources. The sources I could find indicate that attributions of this act to the WU were incorrect and made without good evidence. The FBI in fact retracted the claim that at least one of the perpetrators was ever a member of the WU, claiming that this was "inaccurate".[2] Under the circumstances, and given that this body of material is now being used to challenge the claim that there were no proven deaths resulting from Weatherman actions, I think we need to look into the sourcing of other recently added claims to check for reliability. - Wikidemon (talk) 05:00, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Incidents in question

[edit]

A number of the incidents listed on this page as of 5 November 2024 have not been conclusively tied to the Weatherman and/or were not claimed by them. I propose deleting them or creating a section for "unconfirmed" incidents.
