German show
[edit]There was a German TV show with the same name: https://www.fernsehserien.de/love-is-blind — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:8109:9880:8F8:28F6:FCB7:712E:ABF0 (talk) 16:08, 9 April 2020 (UTC)
Comments for improvement
[edit]Re-rating as B-class per this request for reassessment. I think the structure is all there, and now the next steps are all about fleshing out what's already there. Some thoughts on further improvement:
- Lead could say something about the format of the show (the initial lack of face-to-face interaction and the show following couples from first meeting to marriage are both atypical for the genre).
The series has been compared to Married at First Sight
– not mentioned in the body of the article; I think it should be moved there and replaced with a more general summary of critical reception to the series.- "Format" currently has a mixture of past and present tense, also engaging in a bit of non-neutral/non-encyclopedic wording like
answering the question "Is love blind?"
. 1st season
should befirst season
.still together as of {{currentmonthname}} {{currentyear}}
is not verified by the source, which won't continue updating every month. We can only say "as of" the latest source.- Most of the article is tables, which is a bit of a problem. I think "Season summary" would be better as prose, describing the progression of relationships we see, as otherwise we're omitting things like Barnett's dates with the women other than Amber. Expand these "Relationship notes" out into a few paragraphs of up to 500 words (word limit from MOS:TVPLOT). An alternative would be to scrap "Season summary" and write episode-by-episode descriptions under "Episodes". (The only information in the "Married"/"Still together" columns not mentioned under "Contestants" is who the married people marry, so you could just change the "Relationship Notes" to e.g. "Married to Lauren, November 2018").
- Do any reliable sources discuss Lauren and Cameron's subsequent social media streams?
- Any more production detail would be useful.
Love Is Blind became Netflix's number-one trending program, likely due to large scale self-quarantines due to the 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic
– I don't quite follow this. Surely this doesn't give it an advantage over other programs released in the same period? It might be a reason for increased viewership, but I don't see how it would not have reached #1 either way.On March 24, 2020, Love Is Blind was renewed for a second and third season.
— This is a "Production" thing, not a "Reception" thing.- Probably too soon for any accolades for the show, but worth watching out for any in case it receives awards or nominations.
- More reviews would be good for "Reception". And then the section needs a rewriting. Not sure if I've linked you this before, Jayab314, but Wikipedia:Copyediting reception sections is exceptionally good advice, though very advanced. When you've got enough reviews, you want to re-organise the pertinent opinions they convey by theme (e.g. ethics; comparison to other reality shows; comments on specific couples, or whatever receives significant commentary).
This was a fun one to review! I'm not normally a reality show fan but I did enjoy Love Is Blind, and the article is in good shape. — Bilorv (talk) 21:20, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

- I see now that the answer to my question, lies in the WP article to each season.
- Mea culpa. 2A01:799:322:B300:F98:C698:3C31:E61A (talk) 17:59, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
