Trivia

[edit]

What does the passage under the Trivia section mean? I've never seen the ad and have no idea what it is like from the description given --VetteDude 18:21, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, I don't know what this person is trying to say, I think it should be deleted, or just reworded in a comprehensible manner. Suffocation90

I think the following sentence in the trivia is wrong:

If a receiver makes a long catch, the sound of a cannon firing will be heard

I think this only happend when playing with (or against) buccanners, but can not confirm. Anonymous

Sounds likely to me. NHL 07 has a 'wolf' howl - heard when playing in the Phoenix Coyotes' arena - so in Madden NFL it's probably stadium specific audio also. Mr.bonus 15:26, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Plagiarism

[edit]

Don't know about the rest of the article, but I know that the section regarding NFL Superstar Hall of Fame Mode is a direct copy of a paragraph about the mode in an article on IGN.

Wii Version not developed by Tiburon

[edit]

Instead, it is being developed by EA Canada. Source --66.138.57.136 19:22, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

New Features Section

[edit]

It is leaning either on bias, advertisment, and is possibly plagerised. Can someone confirm this? 72.20.132.7 17:25, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Commentary

[edit]

Shouldn't the article mention that the Xbox 360 version of the game doesn't feature the play-by-play/color commentary (yet the other versions do)? This is (insufficiently) replaced by a radio commentator but does anyone know why the Al Michaels and John Madden commentary isn't in the 360 version? Is it a technical issue or about licensing? More on Trivia

[edit]

I see that there are a lot of roster problems in the trivia section, such as a player not being on the team when he is in real life. Since this really doesn't fit in the trivia section anyways and since Madden always fixes these problems durings its rosters updates, I will delete them.

In addition to that, I'm going to try to narrow the mentions down into one concise section, myself, because (at least on the Playstation 2 version, which I own) there are many, many, many more instances of players actually being drafted and yet showing up as free agents on the game - it's not just a select few, as the article would make it seem. Willie Reid, Dusty Dvoracek, Domenik Hixon, Michael Robinson, Jason Avant, Omar Gaither.....jeez, I can't even begin to name them all, and I'm sure you get the idea anyway. If I'm incorrect about these roster inaccuracies being present in the XBox/XBox 360 editions, feel free to correct me.

Some Edits I Made

[edit]

I am adding a PC section to the version differnces and known bugs. I had one before but it was taken out for some dumb reason.

I'm also editing a statement in the Trivia section. The previous statement was "Bill Parcells and Bill Belichick are not head coaches in the game, instead they are named Dallas Coach and NE Coach." The new statement will have this, but will also have "This is because Parcells is still under contract from ESPN, while Belichick is not part of the NFL head coaches union."

This was in the section before, but it was changed for another apparently dumb reason.

Also in the trivia section. The statment "If Michael Huff is moved to a safety position, he will have better ratings." will be changed to "Sometimes, when players are moved to different positions, there ratings will change either negatively or positively. For example, if Michael Huff is moved to a safety position, rather than a cornerback position, he will have better ratings."

Like the other statement, this to was changed for another apparently dumb reason.

If you need to change these edits (don't understand why you would) please discuss them first.

False Glitch

[edit]

Marques Colston and Mike Bell are there because they weren't on the final Madden cut, NOT because of a glitch.

Playstation 2 Info

[edit]

Anyone know why this was removed?

-Upon closer inspection, I noticed that Playstation 2 heading was the only thing actually missing, the info was still there. -DarthObvious

Playstation 3 Info needed

[edit]

Anyone have info or the game? -STICK.FU. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.163.23.55 (talk) 01:29, 18 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Peyton Manning 08

[edit]

1) This is the Madden 07 article, Peyton Manning being on the cover of Madden 08 doesn't belong here.

2) Is this confirmed? It would be included in overall Madden NFL article then.

-DarthObvious

There is a giltch in the game concerning the fumbling. You can't pick up a fumble and run with the ball. Once it's recovered, the play stops.

Well I don't know about that, but what about : "The Seattle Seahawks D.J. Hackett after a play will turn to his quarterback and pull his pants down and suck his dick." Something tells me this is vandalism, but I dont have the game so I wanted to make sure LOL.

Actually, you can recover a fumble and run with it, done it many times.

Vandalism

Someone must have committed an act of vandalism. I cleared it.Salmans801

Wii Online

[edit]

Will Nintendo ever release a Firmware or some kinda of update through the Wii or through Madden to some how enable online play? Or is that not possible?

Very improbable. The Wii does not have a hard drive, so patching Wii games isn't very feasible. They may update VC games in the future. madsimon 04:12, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Drew Brees and others

[edit]

Why does the game show players such as Drew Brees and David Carr as having a really bad sunburn?

Porn?

[edit]

FoxNews is reporting that a kid in Utah found adult content in a copy of Madden '07 he recieved as a gift from Circuit City. Is this common to all copies of the game (a la the infamous "Hot Coffee" mod), or is it a localized issue with that Circuit City's copies? Does this warrent inclusion in the text of the article? Captain Flatulence 23:51 01/03/06

It might be, especially if more incidents turn up.

WAVY 10 00:25, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

To clear this up: It was a porn DVD with a printed-out Madden label. Since the game was bought used (and for that matter, it was found by the mother of a 14 year old boy) I'd say it had probably been planted by someone after the game had already been shipped and is not a wide-spread problem. -66.226.105.98 00:03, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Second Paragraph

[edit]

While I agree that it warrants some mention here that EA set up this publicity giveaway, I feel that the paragraph should have some sourcing. For example, I know ESPN covered this on SportsCenter. Anyway, I avoided doing so until we recieve some sort of consensus on whether it needs to have a citation for it. 151.198.28.116 20:57, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Soundtrack section

[edit]

Would someone care to explain why it's necessary that the article have a soundtrack section? The music is not an important feature of the game. I can't say that I've seen many video game articles that list the entire contents of their licensed soundtracks, either. The bottom line is, Madden isn't a rhythm game, so it doesn't seem necessary to have a soundtrack section in the article.--Hailinel 07:52, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ANOTHER THING TO NOTE ON THE SOUNDTRACK SECTION: The two asterisks; can somebody please explain what they are!!?? JustN5:12 23:17, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In reply to hailinel - MANY people, myself included, are very interested in the soundtrack of the game. It's a very relevant feature and should without a doubt remain in the article.

justN5 - The two asterisks were to indicate that the Sparta song called "Future Needs" was later renamed "Taking Back Control", which is how it is on Sparta's 2006 album Threes. I've removed the asterisks and indicated this name change there.Chris Nelson 02:32, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Photo inconsistencies

[edit]

Josh Stamer of the Bills has an incorrect picture, but I'm not quite sure who's it is. I don't have my PS2 to confirm, but Stamer's white and the photo's of someone who looks like Lavar Arrington or Jamie Sharper. Could someone confirm who the picture is of so it can be added to the section? -VetteDude 20:12, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Awards and sales

[edit]

Why's there a "Awards" section and a "Reception & Awards" section? It doesn't make sense. Also, does anyone know the sales of the game?

Playstation 2 memory card glitch

[edit]

I heard that there was a glitch where it corrupts you memory card for PS2. Its not anywhere on here and it hasn't happened to me. Can anyone verify this. Someone on amazon.com said that it did this. The End 1493 (talk) 23:44, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That glitch doesn't exist. I have the PS2 version for 6 years, no corruption at all (except for a few agonizing game freezes). So I'm pretty sure that the person that said it was trying to prevent others from buying it. ZappaOMati 16:00, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Green Day?

[edit]

Sorry to put another question on here but it says that American Iiot by Green Day is on the Hall of Fame Edition. I own the Hall of Fame edition and it is not on there. Can someone confirm that it is on there please? The End 1493 22:51, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First time advertising?

[edit]

When I bought the PS2 version of Madden 07 about 4 years ago, I found notible advertisments like Snickers for the beginning coin toss, and the Sprint Drive Summary. Cause I know in recent releases of Madden, there was Old Spice, Caddilac, Reebok (since 2002), Underarmour, and many more I don't know of. This should be notible cause it had these ads compared to NFL GameDay, or NFL 2K. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.103.233.214 (talk) 04:56, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I also have the PS2 version of '07, and I also found the ads, but I don't really think of it as really needed, as I also have the PS2 version of NCAA Football 07, which has the Coca-Cola drive summary. ZappaOMati 15:59, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia and Franchise Mode issues sections

Shawty Alexander

[edit]

Why did it say Former Seattle Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander?--71.235.92.16 (talk) 21:01, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Because he's no longer a Seahawk. ZappaOMati 21:03, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What team is he on now?--71.235.92.16 (talk) 21:06, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

He played a little bit for the Redskins in 2009, I think, but then he retired in 2010. ZappaOMati 21:13, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
