Notability

[edit]

Updates on the content with additional production info. More media cites to follow. Review of in the Independent UK in paper to be added.

This page was marked for lack of WP Notability. I only started with a stub today. The particular work, I believe, will meet WP Notability once I and the community enhance the page. Apologies to NatGertler for not putting in more concrete sources and content before posting.

For now, Notability content we will find will include critical reviews of the play, more on it's publishing history, and productions that are being planned. Also, links from other wikipedia articles may come along.

More soon.

I've placed a tag on it noting the notability concerns in the current state (a single review helps but is not sufficient), but am making no move toward deletion at this point. --Nat Gertler (talk) 06:54, 16 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Additional content has been added. Additional reviews are being collected from US productions.

Edits of August 21

[edit]

New Links are being tracked tonight. All will be updated within 24 hours. Significant additional major media links will be added (NY Times, etc.). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Farmington351 (talkcontribs) 00:22, 21 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Many of the links were not working. I found new links and eliminated any of the references that could not be supported with outside sources. If any wiki review thinks there should be more links, references, or support for GNG please leave a TALK message and I will get additional material. For now, this stub is a starter page, but more can be added. The Play was nominated for a writing award in Mississippi but I can't find an online reference to support the claim. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Farmington351 (talkcontribs) 05:33, 21 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

First, a quick note: please add your new messages to the bottom of the talk page, rather than the top.
The new sources really don't add much to the notability of the topic of this article; they mention the play in passing, or are event listings. However, the New York Times article would do a lot to support an article about the playwright (and much of this article seems to be about the playwright rather than the play.) I suggest we move this article to be playwright's name, and make that the focus. We can leave a forwarding in place so that people looking for the play will end up at the playwright's article. How does that sound? --Nat Gertler (talk) 20:31, 21 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Nat for the idea of creating a playwright page. I know if you google Noah Altshuler and Mark Twain a lot of references can be found and there should be a bio somewhere. Do you want to take a crack at launching a Noah Altshuler page (you understand the GNG better than I do for sure). I am happy to do some research to put expand a bio if you want to start it. I think if we move this page there and do some light editing of the first paragraph, we'll have the beginning of it. Are you okay with having just the one page? Is that something we're in agreement on? If so, I'll move it and do some basic editing on it. I don't want to commit to doing much more than that on it at this point. --Nat Gertler (talk) 00:15, 22 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
