Changes needed

[edit]

Less on rankings and more on actual information that you'd expect to find in an encyclopedia. Just using the featured article Tuck School of Business as a guide:

  • there should be significantly more discussion of the history of the school as the article currently suffers from recentism. Go do some searches in gNews, the Texas archives, or find a book in the library that describes the history in greater detail.
  • More discussion of the academic programs offered as well as the research and departments that faculty perform.
  • More discussion of people: statistics about entering classes of students, notable faculty members, notable alumni, etc. Madcoverboy (talk) 06:47, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats to NThomas for some great work on this article. Here are some issues I noticed at quick glance that need to be addressed:

  • History section jumps from 1955 to the 1990s—need to find more to fill the gap in order to qualify as comprehensive
  • All refs need to be properly formatted (I'm guessing you know this and are waiting until all the changes to the body are finalized)
  • The Admissions subsection only discusses undergrads and needs to reflect other students as well (grad, doc, exec)
  • The Organization subsection is too heavy on the Finance Department and is missing information about the other departments
  • Here are a few resources to beef up the Research subsection: 1, 2, 3; perhaps consider merging the Research Rankings into this section as prose
  • Not sure what to do with the huge list of rankings—got to be some way to outsource it to its own article, link to it here, and highlight the most important rankings here in prose or in a concise visual
  • Not sure this adds value to the article as is: "Students who complete the program are capable of integrating their major into future their career"
  • I don't see the value of displaying the two former logos—one would suffice and it could be displayed in the body of the article
