removal of valid and useful wikilinks
[edit]This article is one of a series that had a number of valid and useful wikilinks removed with an edit summary "unlink interpretation of questionable source". I don't think this is a sufficient explanation, and I don't think this removal of wikilinks was a good idea.
I think the wikilinks should be restored to this article and the other articles. Geo Swan (talk) 22:41, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
Please be more careful
[edit]Another contributor moved a key sentence from the first paragraph of this article -- that this individual had been held in the CIA's black sites to lower down in the article.
After moving that sentence from the paragraph where it was referenced, to a paragraph of its own, they then added an {{unreferenced}} tag to that article.
I am going to add my voice to those other contributors who have noticed this contributor not being careful in moving passages around, without moving or copying the associated references, and then adding {{unreferenced}} tags, and ask them to please be more careful.
In my opinion there is no question that every one of the 100 or so captives who has been held in CIA custody should have that CIA custody mentioned right in the lead paragraph of their article, and I request the contributor who moved this information to explain why they did so. - For the part that is Ad hominem and can be seen as and attack: And to add your voice to those other contributors? Who do you mean? The other editor you worked closely together in this section? I do not know anybody else who has used minor mistakes of an editor as an start to attack them in all the time i am editing Wikipedia. I can only say be careful. To pick out a few instances where another editor may has made a mistake and to use this instances to start an attack against this contributer is something not seen well in the community and user can be blocked for that as it violates the core values of the Wikipedia community. You may have a look at WP:GOODFAITH and other related policies.
- For the content issue: You may have noticed that i have created a new section for the topic as i also see it as important and it is the first section in the article. Impossible to overlook. You may improve it from there and add more information to the section and the lead. For the unreferenced tag. Why didn't you just replace the the tag with the citation if you know there is one? Takes a few seconds to do so and other editors are watching and will noticed that. IQinn (talk) 01:54, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
