Notability

[edit]

The band was on Geffen records and produced by Don Was!! that's not notable enough?

I have not contributed to this article as of yet, but I think they are definitely a "notable" enough band, and with time I can supply some citations. Please do not remove this article. Sojambi Pinola 06:53, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it should be deleted either, and I just added a link, and fixed two others to prove the band's existance. ---- DanTD 02:42, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The deletion notion is pretty bogus ... is THIS notable enough:

really if it the band is so not notable, how did anyone even find the article to consider deleting it?! 68.54.17.184 23:35, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The relevant standard for notability is at Wikipedia:Notability_(music)#Criteria_for_musicians_and_ensembles. It lists many different achievements, any one of which is sufficient. Having an album released by a major label is one of them, and having articles written specifically about them is another. It appears to me that this group qualifies. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 20:45, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fetid, bongwater-soaked towel

[edit]

I half-love that this goofy sentence has remained in the article since October 2008 [1]:

"Live performances from this period, especially in college settings, often included a fetid, bongwater-soaked towel."

Perhaps one could argue it honors the bands capacity for irreverence. I'm leaving it for now, but I dunno.
