DOB
[edit]- IMDb says he was born June 19th 1983, not June 19th 1984. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.101.74.85 (talk • contribs)
- True, and PaulDano.com says 1984. We need to find a third source, preferably something with a better reputation for accuracy, like Rolling Stone. --M@rēino 15:39, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
- well its pure common sense if he was 18 on the 20th of june 2002 on his high school graduation then just subtract 18 from 2002 and the answer is 1984 and besides if you go to yahoo it says he is 22 and his birthday isnt til the 19th so he was born in 1984 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.92.230.161 (talk • contribs)
- Could you provide a link to that yahoo citation? The high school graduation logic will get you nowhere; far too many people graduate from high school at an age other than 18. --M@rēino 13:44, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- I just tried googling Paul Dano, but most of the webpages that come up on the first results page are just wikipedia scrapes, some of the scrapes even have the old dob of 1983. Man, when other sites use wikipedia as a source it makes it very hard to find a reliable source FOR wikipedia :S Perplexing JayKeaton 20:45, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
Place of birth?
[edit]Has anyone tried to verify the article in Connecticut Magazine which gives his birthplace as Wilton, CT? I can't seem to find it online, though Pat Grandjean is the editor of that magazine. Rotten Tomatoes gives Paul's birth date as June 19, 1984, and apparently attributes this to the same article. Eegorr (talk) 23:29, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
- It is unlikely that he was "born" in Wilton. There is no hospital there. It is probably true that his family lived in Wilton, but he was probably actually born in Norwalk Hospital. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.233.37.182 (talk) 00:27, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
- You're assuming he was born in a hospital. - Dudesleeper / Talk 01:41, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
- I've seen a couple of articles (not interviews) say he's New York City born, which would make sense with the rest of his early life bio, but imdb says Wilton, so I suppose it stays Wilton until there's some verifiable evidence to the contrary.
Paul Dano, Royal Dano: related?
[edit]Is Paul Dano related to the late and great actor ROYAL DANO?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.68.248.162 (talk) 19:26, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
- No, there doesn't seem to be any family connection between them. Although it hasn't been directly addressed in any interview I've read, I imagine it would have been mentioned by now if they are related. Connectnine (talk) 17:06, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
atheist?
[edit]is he atheist?72.184.201.3 06:03, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
- no —Preceding unsigned comment added by Philliplikesmilk (talk • contribs) 19:25, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- In a radio interview he mentioned his parents are Lutheran and Catholic. Connectnine (talk) 17:06, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
Just because his parents are religious doesn't mean he is. 71.173.91.169 (talk) 22:33, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
Picture
[edit]Is that really a good one for his profile picture? I think we can find better than a movie trailer. However, I don't know much, so please tell me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.86.10.205 (talk) 01:15, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Pronunciation
[edit]His name is pronounced Dayno, rather than Dan-oh. Can that be added? 99.238.167.214 (talk) 04:11, 25 October 2015 (UTC)

Notability
[edit]Ok, i understand he is not notable as a director or screenwriter, even though I believe it should be in the lead i can understand why it is not. But to not have it in the infobox is absurd, the whole point in occupation in the infobox is to add the other categories that are not in the lead sentence. He has directed and written a film therefore is a director and screenwriter, which should be added to the infobox at least. - Stuv3 (talk) 03:00, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
- That's hardly a reason to include them. (CC) Tbhotch™ 03:21, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
- Interesting. According to the documentation for the infobox the whole point of the Occupation field is to list the occupations as given in the lead, not occupations not in the lead. DonIago (talk) 04:07, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, the infobox is supposed to highlight notability. Infobox disputes are such a problem that there are special sanctions for them: WP:ARBINFOBOX2
- His directing and writing are in the lede, which should be good enough. What notability he has for that work is eclipsed by his acclaimed acting career. --Hipal (talk) 00:43, 22 October 2022 (UTC)
The Fabelman’s Golden Globe Nomination
[edit]The top of the bio suggests he was nominated for a SAG, critics choice, and golden globe for the fabelmans— he did not receive a nomination at the golden globes unfortunately. 2600:387:15:1117:0:0:0:C (talk) 05:08, 12 January 2023 (UTC)
