Lead paragraph
[edit]In my opinion, the lead paragraph should read as follows:
- Philosophy is the study of general and fundamental problems concerning matters such as existence, knowledge, values, reason, mind, and language.
Instead of the current
- Philosophy is the study of general and fundamental problems concerning matters such as existence, knowledge, values, reason, mind, and language.
(Note that the links go to different pages in the two versions above.)
My rationale is that the topic that is covered in existence is not an exact match for the kind of "existence" that philosophy is a study of. Metaphysics is a better match. Same with the other topics. Comments? Opinions? Guy Macon (talk) 21:52, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
- Better without any of these links (as was). If user is interested he/she is directed to the appropriate article. — Philogos (talk) 22:44, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
- Do you have any argument in favor of the links you prefer or a counterargument for my rationale above? "Better" sounds like a personal preference - why do you think it's "better"? And why do you think that unrelated articles are appropriate while philosophy related articles are not? I am really trying to understand your reasoning here. Guy Macon (talk) 01:24, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
- Changed links to conform to Philosophy See Philosophy talk page. Guy Macon (talk) 18:05, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
- I do not have ANY preferred links, I said "Better without any of these links", as it now is.— Philogos (talk) 02:34, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
