I removed a link to Restoration (Latter Day Saints) because it's title is Restoration, not Restorationism. It is true that the LDS is a part of Restorationism, but only in as far as LDS is part of Restorationism (Christian primitivism), which is already mentioned. Sounds like an acceptable decision. Cheers. --StormRider 16:30, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This may well be the right decision. I think it may be worth talking about, though. Mormonism has a strong restorationist or primitivist tendency - and the idea of the restoration is part of that vision. Is it possible that a non-Mormon reader looking for information on the Mormon restoration might end up on this page? EastTN (talk) 18:27, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Latter Day Saint position on Christian history is often referred to as "Restorationism" - the belief that the Restoration did in fact occur. --BenMcLean (talk) 02:35, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Refs

[edit]

Unusual to add refs in a disamb page, but this term needs it. The one ref I didn't include was for "restorationism" related to the Acts Apocatastis, since the only source would be Universalism: The Prevailing Doctrine of the Christian Churchby John Wesley Hanson, a phenomenally inaccurate book on every subject: e.g. p57 "Though Clement's view of man's destiny is called restorationism (apokatastasis) it was “not as the restitution of that which was lost at the Fall, but as the crown and consummation of the destiny of man leading to a righteousness such ..." etc. Instead I included a more reliable modern source where "Restorationism" is the group of Adin Ballou in the 1820s controversy.
