What is the source material for this paragraph?

[edit]

I've moved the following from the article because it lacks reference. It can go back when it is sourced. Thanks.

Luria famously opposed the molecular phylogeny-based tree of life developed by Carl Woese. This conception of evolutionary history, now accepted by the majority of biologists and amply supported by genetic evidence, was nevertheless strenuously, even viciously, opposed when it made its debut. Luria's strident opposition to it is an unfortunate black mark on an otherwise exemplary and noteworthy scientific career.

I am Salvador Luria's son. FYI, he eas not born Salvatore Eduardo Luria. He had no middle name. He asked someone at Ellis Island in 1940 what "a good American name was," and that person suggested Edward. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.247.165.60 (talk) 15:07, 21 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I removed Eduardo. It is already mentioned in the article that he changed his first and middle name shortly after arrival in US. Eos19 (talk) 09:22, 6 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Nobel Prize

[edit]

No date seems to be given, among other things. The topic needs more detail. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.85.142.241 (talk) 00:55, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Twelve years later, and the Nobel is still mentioned only briefly in passing. Very odd. GA-RT-22 (talk) 20:34, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nationality

[edit]

Salvador Luria was Italian, and then he got naturalized American. I've corrected this item in his biography. --Larry.europe (talk) 17:39, 19 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
