Note regarding the "This is Him" title

[edit]

Although the English title "This is Him" has been announced, it is as of yet only used in Chinese, French, German, South Korean, Taiwanese, and Thai releases, so I believe we should wait until an English release (or until English RSs start using it more than SwO, per WP:COMMONNAME) is announced before we move this article. Probably only a matter of time given that it is already expanding outside the Asian market.--AlexandraIDV 17:23, 25 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'll be reviewing this article.Tintor2 (talk) 16:57, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The article looks good but there are some things that confused me about the series and need to be solved for the review:

  • The lead confused in regards to the serialization. Is it still ongoing? Did it end or was cancelled?
    • It is ongoing but scheduled to end on December 30. I don't think there is anything in the lead that suggests it has ended yet, and in the release section it says The series is planned to end with chapter 100 on December 30, 2021.--AlexandraIDV 21:28, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Since the lead is where the main characters are mentioned first I would suggest adding the last names.
  • I would suggest adding a brief reception commentary to the lead per wp:lead
    • It's already there: The series was popular with readers and well received by critics for its writing and characters, becoming the third-place winner of the 2021 Next Manga Award and the third most read Line Manga series of 2021.. If you want me to expand it, I can do so.--AlexandraIDV 21:28, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Volume list does not have an ending which left me the same confusion. If it is still ongoing it should noted while, if it ended, it needs an ending for the narrative.
    • The tankobon (collected volume) releases have not collected the entire series yet - only volume 1 is out, which collects the first 8 chapters (out of a total of 100). I will continue summarizing the volumes as they are released.

@Alexandra IDV: Other than that I see no major issues. Fix them and I'll gladly pass it. Happy holidays. In case you are busy due to holidays I can wait.Tintor2 (talk) 13:42, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Tintor2: I have responded to your points above.--AlexandraIDV 21:30, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Characters' exact identities

[edit]

Following on from the List of LGBT Characters in Animation, I noticed that this article uses a number of labels to describe the characters that are not directly mentioned in the manga or anime and are essentially original research based on the characters' behavior. For example, Ryuuji never mentions that he is only attracted to guys (in fact, his words implies that Makoto is the only guy he's attracted to), while Aoi explicitly states that gender is not important to her, but never describes herself as bisexual. That is, she could easily be pansexual as well. So, should we somehow rewrite this more accurately to the original? For example, that Ryuji has a separate character arc where he explores his sexuality? Solaire the knight (talk) 20:31, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
