Merge proposal

[edit]

Guidelines at Wikipedia:WikiProject UK geography/How to write about settlements state that ideally the civil parish should be the catch-all article, avoiding single line articles on every village and landmark within the parish.

Therefore, I suggest that villages within the parish with a one or two sentence article, ie Handcross to be merged and redirected to this parish article. nb Pease Pottage and Warninglid have grown large enough to remain independent articles. ++ MortimerCat (talk) 09:31, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've added some stuff. Will maybe add a photo at some point. Handcross is, AFAIK, bigger than Slaugham, so it would be a bit weird to merge smaller into bigger like this. But whatever you want to do, just please maintain content. Grace Note (talk) 09:19, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Slaugham is the larger in that the article refers to the parish of Slaugham, which encompasses the village of Slaugham, as well as Handcross, Pease Pottage and Warninglid. MortimerCat (talk) 11:07, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think two years (tomorrow) without a comment or consensus this can be closed. MilborneOne (talk) 15:22, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
When I added the merge tag, all the article said "Handcross is a village". The article has grown since then, so I fully agree. MortimerCat (talk) 17:20, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
