Major cleanup, notable alumni list
[edit]I just performed a major cleanup on this entry. Perhaps most controversial was removing some of the notable alumni listed. In general, people are notable if they have a redlinked page in their name, not just their band's entry. Please discuss it here and at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Oregon if you think this is incorrect. Thanks! tedder (talk) 01:14, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for looking after my alma mater. I didn't mind the bands being linked but I think the cuts to alumni list are fine. I had hoped that an article about Stephen Stageberg would materialize--he's notable, but it's been a redlink for too long. If we were to partially prosify the section we could add a paragraph along the lines of: "Other alumni of South include Tim Arnold, formerly of the Cherry Poppin' Daddies, all the members of the Rock n Roll Soldiers..." etc. I can think of several other folks who went on to join notable bands (...Hammerbox, Anthony and the Johnsons...), who may or may not merit an article on their own, so it might be a good addition. Such a section would need to be fully cited to show the South Eugene connection, of course. Katr67 (talk) 17:39, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
Rerating
[edit]I rerated this from low to mid for WikiProject Oregon per the alumni who attended the school- Sam Adams, Neil Goldschmidt, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, John Kitzhaber, Tracy Bonham. The other good reason for the higher rating is the connection with Nike. I also rated it as mid for WPSchools. tedder (talk) 20:13, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for your work on the article. Your rating makes sense but I'm biased. Note that many highly skilled Wikipedia editors have attended there too. ;) Katr67 (talk) 22:48, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks! What other editors have attended? (off this page, or off wiki, is just fine). I don't have a COI, so I figured it was good if I evaluated the rating. tedder (talk) 02:02, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Why not notable?
[edit]Why is Lana Lane not notable? She has a Wiki page devoted to her. --BwB (talk) 09:55, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
- Not the same Lana Lane. The one that was added was apparently a "Accountant for G5 Search Marketing". No way that's the same one as the rocker Lana Lane. tedder (talk) 13:26, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
