Comment
[edit]uncommonly used? More than half the competitions I play are Stableford...

Handicap?
[edit]can your handicap go up in stableford?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.32.125.83 (talk) 19:08, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
Opinion
[edit]I removed:
"although it could be argued that unlike medal or stroke play, better players are not rewarded for their relative consistency."
As an unsourced viewpoint. Moreover it makes little sense, and sounds a bit bitter, because a good player would benefit from their consistency by achieving higher points per hole (more pars or birdies) than a lesser player who would be expected to drop points (sic +1, +2 etc per hole).
Merge Competition Stableford Adjustment into this article
[edit]I don't believe that the article about an adjustment to the Stableford scoring system in golf is separately WP:N. Barring any disagreement I'll make this change in a month or so. Ruttgc49 08:44, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose merge as proposed. While CSA is related to Stableford (and has Stableford in the name), it is not "an adjustment to the Stableford scoring system" or anything directly to do with the Stableford system; it is purely a (defunct) handicapping concept/mechanism used by the EGA Handicap System. As such, Stableford is would not be the best target for a merge; that would probably be Handicap (golf)#EGA Handicap System. wjematherplease leave a message... 10:29, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
- Closing, given the abscence of objection and no support (for either the main or alternative proposals), with stale discussion. Klbrain (talk) 12:18, 27 October 2024 (UTC)
