Re-written

[edit]

I've completely re-written the artilce and it needs a lot of work. LOTRrules (talk) 18:26, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, especially about his character. He stands out among Middle-earth creatures not simply because of his immense height but for his slow, patient ways. The hobbits who escaped from the orcs got him to speed up quite a bit. He sent Quickbeam to escort them, because he was so "hasty". --Uncle Ed (talk) 19:58, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As of the beginning of 2019, it still needs a lot of work. E. g. "In the Years of the Trees where the Ents were thriving in 1495 Morgoth had re-established his realm in Middle-earth..." "the Entwives had moved across to the east where Anduin lay." seems to conflict with the earlier statement that the Entwives "...in the Second Age, were driven out by Sauron." The date 1495 may be a Second Age date, but the Years of the Trees were in the First Age. The known history is disorganized and mixed in with the events of Lord of the Rings. The retelling of the events of the book and the movie is not very good, IMHO. The previous comment about the generally "unhasty" ways of Ents is a good suggestion. I might do some work on this during rainy winter days. Wastrel Way (talk) 16:26, 16 January 2019 (UTC) Eric[reply]
Also, the use of secondary unscholarly sources needs to be eliminated as much as possible. Wastrel Way (talk) 16:29, 16 January 2019 (UTC) ERic[reply]
