VF Corporation history fix
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest was declined. The reviewer would like to request the editor with a COI attempt to discuss with editors engaged in the subject-area first. |
I am a VF Corp. employee, thus not making a direct edit due to COI.
VF Corporation is not a "a fictitious name that is not even legally registered,". VF Corporation is registered with the SEC (https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/103379/0001193125-14-069474-index.htm ) and listed on the NYSE (https://www.nyse.com/quote/XNYS:VFC).
Request removal of that part of the sentence. Would be left with: The H.D. Lee Company (now Lee) was acquired by the company in 1969 and the corporate name was changed to VF Corporation to reflect the more diverse product line.

VF Corporation introduction update
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
I am a VF Corp. employee, thus not making a direct edit due to COI. VF actually sold the “intimates” business (underwear) back in 2007 (http://www.marketwatch.com/story/vf-corp-to-sell-intimates-business-for-350-million). Thus I’m requesting the below replacement:
Current: “VF Corporation is an American clothing corporation. VF corporation sells jeanswear, underwear, daypacks, and workwear. The corporate headquarters is in Greensboro, North Carolina.”
Suggested replacement: VF Corporation is a global branded lifestyle apparel and footwear company founded in 1899 and headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina. [1]
The company’s more than 30 brands are organized into five “Coalitions” that correspond to product categories. These Coalitions are Outdoor & Action Sports, Jeanswear, Imagewear, Sportswear and Contemporary Brands. [2]
Let me know your thoughts, appreciate the help. Tyler Kerr VF (talk) 22:10, 18 December 2014 (UTC)
- I made the edit you requested, albeit with a little less industry jargon, but I think it communicates the required information in an encyclopedic manner. Wilipino (talk) 02:13, 21 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks Wilipino, I appreciate the help! What are your (and others) thoughts on removing the redundant (and uncited) copy that was there previously: "VF Corporation is an American clothing corporation. VF corporation sells jeanswear, underwear, daypacks, and workwear. The corporate headquarters is in Greensboro, North Carolina." Tyler Kerr VF (talk) 16:12, 22 December 2014 (UTC)

Sale of Contemporary Brands
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest was declined. A reviewer felt that this edit would not improve the article. |
VF Corp has sold it's Contemporary Brands Coalition: http://www.nasdaq.com/article/vf-corp-vfc-refines-portfolio-sells-contemporary-brands-cm671397
As such, the opening should be opened to something like: VF Corporation is an American worldwide apparel and footwear company founded in 1899 and headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina.[4] The company’s more than 30 brands are organized into four product categories: Outdoor & Action Sports, Jeanswear, Imagewear and Sportswear.
The Contemporary Brands should also be removed from the "Brands owned by VF Corporation" section.
Let me know if I can provide more detailed information. Appreciate the help.

A draft has been submitted on this former subsidiary of VF Corporation, which is now a publicly traded corporation. Should the draft be accepted as a separate article on the former subsidiary? Robert McClenon (talk) 18:07, 20 February 2020 (UTC)
