[edit]

Hello all, and thank you for contributing to this school site. I'm part of the Wikipedia:WikiProject_Schools/Assessment team, and, as it has recently been editted, then I'm reviewing this page. I'm currently giving it a grade of start on the Wikipedia 1.0 Assessment Scale and an importance of High on this importance scale.

My reasoning is as follows: This school is one of the oldest in the UK. The start is really based on the length. As you note it could do with a ~Copy Edit Victuallers 14:47, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ugh. Is there any way this content can be salvaged, or should we just start from scratch?--Sean Black (talk) 22:40, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I volunteer to try dePOVing and tidying it, but if there's to be a new start, I'll hold. David Kernow 21:20, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh dear, I wrote the original stub for this page (I attended the school for a short while) but it seems to have just turned into a copy of the prospectus. If you want to start from scratch just use my original, but please add extra information too, hence why it had a 'stub' tag! Clym 10:17, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

tie colours

[edit]

where did the tie colour information come from? it's not accurate, or at least it doesn't correspond with how things were when i left four years ago. girls don't wear ties for a start...

i'll change it to how i remember things. Trem (talk) 20:51, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

11th oldest school in the world claim

[edit]

I dispute the claim that the school is the 11th oldest in the world. The article List of the oldest schools in the world cites few references and has the clear disclaimer that it is a work in progress with likely omissions from non English speaking countries. I think that the list article should be placed in see-also section as it clearly has relevance to the topic of the main article, but the claim itself should be removed. What do others think? --Simple Bob (talk) 11:02, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that that list is not particularly reliable. The List of the oldest schools in the United Kingdom places it as tenth oldest extant school in the UK. Perhaps that would be a better and more reliable claim. -- zzuuzz (talk) 11:23, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Alumni

[edit]

Most of the alumni are cited to the School's entry in the Guide to Independent Schools. However the alumni list there is strikingly similar, down to order and capitalization, to an old version of this page, on which it is surely based. So this reference is unreliable. Kanguole 14:58, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agree, although it may depend on which came first. I'm happy to believe the source is unreliable as it is merely a publicity vehicle for independent schools. --Simple Bob (talk) 15:10, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The history of this article shows that list slowly being built up. It can't be explained as a copy of the other website. Kanguole 15:24, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
