Colours

[edit]

For various reasons, the background is blue. The primary reason, and I can't seem to find the earlier discussion, was that it reflects the traditional team's home colours. The original Whitecaps wore a white home jersey and it had a dark blue background and the lettering was white on that. That was reflected in the division two (USL, USSF-D2 uniforms) and when this template was originally created, this colour scheme was carried forward. The other, less apparent reason, is that the shade of blue selected is so dark that if it is uses for the text with a white background, it appears to be black. The team's colours are blue and white. Currently, it's two shades of blue but historically, it was only one shade. While I understand that most team templates reflect the teams home jersey colours, it would be best not to do so with this template. If it is a written rule, then the lighter shade of blue should be used for the copy rather than the darker shade. As long as the third colours are not used in the infobox, I think we're fine. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 01:26, 25 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If in doubt, strip the colours entirely. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward) (talk) 08:06, 25 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Doesn't look black to me. GiantSnowman 09:43, 25 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
