Régent L. Beaudet (born September 28, 1939) is a Canadian politician from Quebec. Beaudet served in the National Assembly of Quebec from 1994 until his resignation in 1997.

Early life

Beaudet was born in Sorel, Quebec on September 28, 1939 to Jean-Charles Beaudet and Winifred Casaubon.[1] After graduating from Séminaire de Saint Hyacinthe in 1960, Beaudet studied medicine at Université de Montréal, graduating in 1965.[1] Upon graduation, Beaudet worked as chief thoracic surgeon at a variety of hospitals in Montreal, including Hôpital Notre-Dame and Hôtel-Dieu de Montréal.[1] Concurrently, he worked as a clinical professor in the surgery department of Université de Montréal. In 1991, Beaudet shifted his career focus away from patient interaction, serving as director of professional and hospital services at both Hôtel-Dieu de Montréal and at Centre hospitalier Saint-Michel.[1]

Political career

Beaudet was elected to the National Assembly of Quebec in the 1994 election. Elected as a member of the Liberal Party for the riding of Argenteuil, Beaudet served on the opposition bench.


Post politics

Following his resignation, Beaudet returned to medicine, serving as the public health director for Hôpital Charles-Le Moyne from 1998-2002. From 2002 to his retirement in 2007, Beaudet was the founder and president of the Groupe Beaudet, a golf course landscaping company.[1]
