Born in Chicago, Illinois, Cherrycoola94 was originally named Cherrycola94 after a lyric from the radio version of a The Kinks song and the year of a comic book character's first solo run however, the hand penning his birth certificate wrote the name wrong. After maturing he was presented with the option to change his name, but decided to stick with "coola" because it made sure that the word "cool" was in his name. The reason for this was "to keep their [those who read about him] expectations straight. I'm a cool dude, after all."
