Note
  1. ^ Certain award groups do not simply award one winner. They acknowledge several different recipients, have runners-up, and have third place. Since this is a specific recognition and is different from losing an award, runner-up mentions are considered wins in this award tally. For simplification and to avoid errors, each award in this list has been presumed to have had a prior nomination.

This is a list of awards and nominations received by Momoland, a South Korean girl group formed by MLD Entertainment (formerly known as Duble Kick Entertainment) through the 2016 reality show Finding Momoland. Momoland has awarded as 'Artist of the Year' on Korea Cable TV Awards in April 2018.

Discography

[edit]

South Korea-based girl group Twice have released three studio albums, two compilation albums, four reissues, eight extended plays, one compilation extended play, and eighteen singles. With over 4.4 million albums sold as of November 2019, Twice is the highest-selling girl group in South Korea. Encompassing both South Korea and Japan, the sales figures have increased to 8 million albums sold.[2][3][4]

Formed by JYP Entertainment in 2015 through the survival show Sixteen, Twice debuted in October 2015 with the release of their first EP, The Story Begins, and its single "Like Ooh-Ahh". Twice's second EP, Page Two, and its lead single "Cheer Up", were released in April 2016. "Cheer Up" debuted at No. 1 on the Gaon Digital Chart, making the group's first No. 1 hit on that chart and eventually becoming the best-performing digital song of 2016 in South Korea.[5] In October 2016, the group released their third EP, Twicecoaster: Lane 1 with the single "TT". The EP became the best-selling album by a girl group in the history of Gaon Album Chart, with about 467,000 copies sold as of December 2019,[6] surpassed The Boys (2011) by Girls' Generation, with the record of 465,000 copies.[7]

In 2017, the reissue of Twicecoaster: Lane 1, Twicecoaster: Lane 2, was released in February, while the group's fourth EP, Signal, was released in May. Their debut studio album, Twicetagram, was released in October, and was subsequently reissued as Merry & Happy in December. The former three releases became the top three best-selling albums by a girl group in 2017.[8] In April 2018, Twice released their fifth EP, What Is Love?. The EP was certified Platinum by the Korea Music Content Association (KMCA), became the first album by female artist to be certified Platinum since certification were introduced on April 2018.[9] In July, a reissue Summer Nights with its lead single "Dance the Night Away" was released. "Dance the Night Away" debuted at No. 1 on the Gaon Digital Chart sold 2.5 million downloads and surpassed 100 million streams, earning group's very first Platinum certification's single both download and streaming from the KMCA.[10][11] In November, the sixth EP, Yes or Yes, was released; the reissued version, The Year of "Yes", was released in December.[12]

In Japan, Twice debuted in June 2017 with their first Japanese compilation album, #Twice, earning their first Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ).[13] "TT (Japanese ver.)", which was one of digital singles from #Twice, also earned Gold digital certification by the RIAJ.[14] The group's first and second Japanese singles, "One More Time" and "Candy Pop", were also certified Platinum by the RIAJ.[15] The third single, "Wake Me Up", was certified Double Platinum, becoming the first physical single by a non-Japanese female artist to earn that certification.[16][17] The first three singles were later included on Twice's Platinum-certified debut Japanese studio album, BDZ (2018).[18][19] In 2019, Twice's fourth and fifth Japanese singles, "Happy Happy" and "Breakthrough", were released in June as the double concept project,[20] and extended the group's record of consecutive Platinum certifications.[15]
