The France China Foundation is an organisation who aims to encourage a personal relationship between future French and Chinese policymakers, to stimulate their interest in the other country and to inspire them to set up joint projects.
It was created during the summer of 2012 by a team of diplomats, entrepreneurs and artists. Its main activity is to organise the annual Sino-French “Young Leaders” program, which takes place alternately in China and in France. The initiative has already received strong political and institutional support in both countries, especially through its Strategic Committee which gathers leading personalities from France and China. In China, its official partner is the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), which plays an important role in the debate on international affairs and organizes high-level exchanges with foreign countries.
The Young Leaders Program
[edit]The Sino-French « Young Leaders » program aims at promoting exchanges between Chinese and French high potentials from a variety of backgrounds (economics, politics, culture, media) who are going to play important roles in their countries or in French-Chinese relationships. The program consists of two consecutive study trips, in France in 2013, then in China the following year. Each study trip will have thirty people between the age of 25 and 45 spending four days in a city or region, selected for its political, economic or cultural interest. It encompasses conferences and work sessions related to the latest developments in both countries. Meetings with guest speakers, in addition to visits to industrial sites and cultural centers will also be organized. The «Young Leaders» Program focus on strengthening links between participants and encouraging future exchanges.
Beyond the candidates’participation in two consecutive study trips, the main purpose of the France China Foundation is to develop friendly and personal relationships based on the organization of regular events in France and China, hence enabling members to get together in order to brainstorm on common issues.
