Ultra HD Blu-ray (or UHD BD) is an upcoming optical disc format that is extended from Blu-ray to allow for additional storage capacity, faster disk read speeds, as well as support for 4K resolution (Ultra-high-definition television) content.
History
[edit]The format was first announced on September 5, 2014 by the Blu-ray Disc Association[4]. The format was finalized in the summer of 2015.
