My current major is Aerospace engineering. My interest in this field began when I was randomly following links between Wikipedia articles, and stumbled on the Interstellar travel article. While most of the methods listed there had some degree of detail on how the vehicle got from orbit to another star, only Project Orion detailed how the vehicle would get into orbit. My attempts to learn more led me to SpaceX Starship (back when the main image was of B4 and S20), and just the idea of a fully reusable rocket made spaceflight my main interest.
Most of my edits are visual edits, due to my lack of any skill regarding source edits. So, sorry in advance for any mistakes I make in source editing.
Given that I have been called a "SpaceX fanboy", or similar terminology before, I'm writing this to explain my exact view of SpaceX (and Elon Musk).
I am very impressed with SpaceX: they are consistently breaking flight rate records, and are the first (and only) company to not only recover, but reuse an orbital rocket stage (Sorry New Shepard and Shuttle: Shuttle is primarily a spacecraft, and Shepard is nothing more than a large sounding rocket). And they are working on a fully reusable vehicle, which is really inspiring. If it wasn't for SpaceX, I quite literally would not be where I am today: my decision to go to the college I'm attending was based on them supporting an aerospace engineering major).
That isn't saying I think they're perfect (IFT-1, IFT-2, Starlink 9-3, Starlink 8-6, and Crew-9 are good examples of this). Their launch license violations, alleged by the FAA, are damning, to say the least.[a] As is the occupation of the plot of land owned by Cards Against Humanity. I could continue, but I really don't want my user page to be nothing but a list of Musk's crimes. But it isn't NPOV, or even Original Research, to say that they are decades ahead of their competitors.[1]
But my view of Musk is the complete opposite: I think he's a complete asshole. He isn't a genius: he's an idiot who has convinced a lot of people that's he's smart. He spreads conspiracy theories and endorses hate speech. The sooner he stops being the public head of SpaceX, Tesla, ect, ect, the better.
For regularly updating the pages SpaceX Starship (spacecraft) and Super Heavy with relevant recent information. Honestly if you weren't doing it, Wikipedia would simply not have information about the whereabouts of individuals stages post-2022. I appreciate your contributions.
