Eagle Winged Palace are an American folk music ensemble based in Los Angeles, California. The band or, the loose artist collective was formed by singer/songwriter Eric "Cashew" Harding in 2008. Artists who contribute or have contributed include singer/songwriter Michelle Vidal, keyboardists Nathan Van Hala and Blake Jordan, vocalists Meegan Michel, Rhea Harding, Karma McCartney, Sterling Andrews, and drummers Emma Kathan and Joe Ziebelski.
The concept of the project has been to write and perform music on acoustic instruments about California history and life. In an interview with Brooklyn's Chocolate Bobka, Harding explains, "Instrumentally we try to keep everything acoustic, pre-electronic." [1] Musically, the sound crosses through baroque pop, psychedelia, Americana roots music, and folk-rock genres. They are also noted for being a female-heavy musical act. [2] Their first recording, "Hand Of Doom", was released on Park The Van Records. It yielded glowing notices, including LA Record, which highlighted its "delicate spooky" sound and its "moving melodies". [3]
